I can say, from personal, firsthand experience, that Congressman Waxman has assembled a crackerjack staff of investigators and attorneys!

The Bush Presidency's Office of the Pardon Attorney is going to be the busiest in history, I bet: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=office+of+the+pardon+attorney

8. Yeah!!
WASHINGTON -- California Rep. Henry Waxman, the vocal corporate critic slated to run a powerful committee if Democrats win the House, said he would aggressively expand oversight of many large industries -- with a focus on drug prices, oil-company profits and Halliburton Co.'s contracting work in Iraq.

There are lots of heros...
:applause:

But I must admit, that I, like others, do hope that something big breaks this week...
The stakes are verry high...

Must have something to do with the Bulldog genes he possesses because never toots his own horn.

Have you seen or used the custom government search engine his staff put together? I understand he made it available for public use. This blast from the past is what we can expect to see coming from his office in the future months:

3 June 2004. Representative Henry Waxman provides this database and report on the Bush Administration's public statements on Iraq. The database "identifies 237 specific misleading statements about the threat posed by Iraq...." You can search it by keyword, speaker, subject or date. The information provided includes the quote, who said it, the source (e.g., interview on CNN) and an explanation about why the statement is believed to be misleading. (et)

22. April 4, 2006 Was a Red Letter Day...
... looking back through the records:

There was quite a bit of House and Senate activity on one of my websites on April 4th. This was the day that one of the MC's staff put me in a room, with high-speed Internet access, and had me pull over redundant copies of data.

The IP addresses:

143.231.X.X (house.gov)

156.33.X.X (senate.gov)

156.33.X.X (senate.gov)

156.33.X.X (senate.gov)

Since that time, there has been a lot of various ".gov" traffic.

... just like a good film, good legislation often entails "leaving some material on the cutting room floor," to get it out into release.

There are those who have long memories for what didn't make it into Sarbanes-Oxley I.

After more of this stuff comes to light, there will be the political will necessary to release the "directors' cut" of Sarbanes-Oxley.

27. I do believe Waxman is still awaiting a tape from GE
featuring former CEO and Poppy Bush pResidential library trustee, Jack Welch, from election night 2000 ...

I suspect he, also, has a huge Halliburton file.

Go Henry! Make history!

from 2001:

Rep. Henry Waxman (D-Calif.) is still pushing NBC News to hand over alleged videotapes from last November's presidential election.

Waxman says the tapes, which NBC insists do not exist, show GE Chairman/CEO Jack Welch trying to push NBC into calling the election for George W. Bush. According to trade magazine Multichannel News, Waxman sent a four-page letter last Thursday to NBC president/COO Andrew Lack - demanding that NBC turn over the tapes or risk facing a congressional subpoena.

~snip~

"This is especially important when committee witnesses promise - under oath - to supply requested information. So I respectfully decline to close this matter," Waxman said, according to Multichannel News.

He added that he was "offended" by Lack's position and called NBC's decision to declare the matter dead an "arrogant assertion."

That would be better than Impeachment. (It's always been my hope that the Gore win would come out...because someone somewhere has the goods that will clinch it...but even without a whistle blower the evidence is overwhelming that he won.) I think it needs to come out so the country can heal. Just like if Nixon had gone to jail for his crimes...we might not have had to deal with the hell from the Repug Hydra all these decades.

At least it's my fantasy...
