What's wrong with Nancy Pelosi?

Newt Gingrich is trying to raise money for the RNC, and his big argument is that Nancy Pelosi might become Speaker, and she has said, "I don't really consider ourselves to be at war." I guess he's implying that the war in Iraq could go worse under Pelosi? I say, HOW MUCH WORSE COULD IT GET? Republicans, how much worse could ANYONE screw things up that the rubber-stamping Repulbicans have already done? Sheesh!

Newt Gingrich, however, is very long.

I'm a hard-bitten realist who wants a huge majority of new and old Democrats to choose Pelosi as the next House Speaker.

If you listen to republicans you swear she was somebody from death row or something. My republican friend from Maryland says she doesn't like Nancy Pelosi, who is originally from Maryland. I asked her why? She just said she doesn't like her. I said well she can't be any worse than Dennis Hastert or Newt Gingrich. After I made that comment she had nothing to say.

And even if she's too old to have periods,
she could have a flashback at any time. All the
scientists in the world have still not completely
figured out the many mysterious things that a period
can do to a person having it. Do you want somebody in

Flashbacks are sometimes worse than the thing flashed back to.
And where as periods come pretty much on schedule, the
flashback and its accouterements can come at any time, like
in the middle of negotiations with an axes of nuclear evil perhaps?

So you can get used to it. Somebody who's only nuts
once in a while is the most dangerous type, because you
never know when it's coming. I have nothing against periods
per se, or even flashbacks, which are both natural parts of
being a gal and should not be held against them. But in a
tough race between a man and a gal the man is going to bring
up periods or flashbacks at some point so we should be prepared.

We assume that she is hated by the right and therefore they keep throwing her name out there to hurt our chances. But that's backwards. She's unknown to most people, so they are trying to shape opinion of her by constantly using her name as though it were bad and scary. That way, if we do win, people will have been conditioned to think of her in negative terms.

Chomsky, I've heard, calls it "manufacturing consent--" acting as if something is already agreed upon to make it so.

Republicans are dumb. They fall for this stuff.
