Is it legal to use camera phones in voting booths?

If so I thought it might be a good idea to video record these machines when they are not working.

A lot of cell phones these days record video.

1. It depends on your state, but my state does not allow cameras in the polling place.

Privacy of the vote and all that. But if YOU want to go and video your own vote, if you have a private voting booth, then who would know?

If your machine isn't working and your phone record video, I think it would be a good idea to record it regardless. At least post it anonymously somewhere for the world to see.

12. Ya, and 8 seconds should be plenty...

I know the Motorola Razr and a lot of other phones record video. I noticed teenagers using them at a concert I went to a few months ago. It's really easy to record multiple 8 second clips. They also record audio.

Of entering or leaving a polling place.

It's legal to take in any kind of camera, and photograph or videotape anything that isn't a person (other than yourself) entering or leaving.

Your polling place should have a curtained off area, after that youre on your iown to make the choices you see fit. If your mnachine is screwed up then I would see it your duty as an American ;) to take that photo.

I'd think it would be okay in order to record your OWN vote, but I don't want anyone, even someone I perceive as an ally, to record mine.
