Washington Journal: GOP sees "successes" with early voting
:puke:

They might be cautioned to remember how the early voting in Florida "seemed" to favor Kerry 3 to 1..

The are spinning so hard it must make them dizzy..and of course the press is playing right along..

that the GOPers do well in early voting because they mail out absentee ballots to all their constituents. Anybody know if this is true?

3. That's the traditional wisdom, but they said it's changing and Dems are doing much better
in the absentee ballots nowadays. There's no way to tell. Dems might use absentee ballots more because they distrust polling machines.

So it could be a complete reversal.

5. cool
I did find that the GOP was doing it in 1984:

Kind of an Internet Explorer type deal, eh? IE is the most popular browser because it comes pre-installed on most PCs. Of course, MS is still fighting anti-trust charges over that.

9. Are they counting the votes?
I didn't think that was legal.

More bullshit spin from bullshit journalists trying to turn a rout into a horse race.

10. No, but when they send them out, they know what party you are
and 'assume' that you voted a party line.. so if 2000 republican ballots were returned to them, the just assume that the votes inside are republican ..

14. In FL, how many people voted each day is public record
If turnout in heavily GOP areas is higher than in heavily Democratic areas the GOP would know that it had the advantage. They may, however, just be bluffing in order to not depress their volunteers and turnout.

15. Hey Freddie
Is there a link to that info? Does the state publish it everyday?

We need someone in Fla. to put those numbers together so that our number crunchers can spend their time crunching, not searching.

The numbers people need help.

If each of us in every state, or even each congressional district, can find their voting numbers on the web, publish a link and a summary of the numbers, our people can easily access the facts.

We will have thread for each contested state in the Election Reform Forum.

16. Here are the numbers from Miami-Dade County
http://elections.miamidade.gov/Library/ev-stats.pdf

Other counties may or may not have the data in the web, but it must be publicly available.

18. Great
PDF's can be problematic at times....but that's better than nothing.

Say, Freddie, how about starting a thread in the Election Reform forum for Florida with that link and any others that you may run across? Florida needs help.... lots of help, eh?
