Imagine a Democratic president with the powers bush has made possible
Edited on Tue Oct-31-06 10:28 AM by Philosoraptor
The republicans might someday regret giving the president un-encumbered powers, and I hope I live long enough to see it.

Careful what you wish for bush zombies.

1. Yeah, like what if people
who tamper with elections are declared "ememies of democracy" or something like that. Well, one thing, they won't need to be waterboarded, they'll start squealing like pigs during the perp walk.

7. Did it ever occur to anyone
perhaps that's why the Dems never fought fearless leader too hard because they we're drooling at the chance to be monarch themselves someday?

3. In 1993, Repukes were bitching about Clinton having a few "files" on some
Republicans ...

Oh, and Newt Gingrich had legal action taken against a couple who were "illegally wiretapping" his conversation about illegally funding things ...

Oh, and Repukes were concerned about voter fraud ... they always bring up 1960 and "Illinois" ... except that JFK had a clear electoral college win even if he lost Illinois ...

5. "You have to support President Hillary
otherwise you're a traitor".

That sentence will make them realise how stupid they've been to unreservedly support *.

10. Sorry, but I don't want any president having that sort of power.
I trust the Democrats just slightly less than I do the Republicans, hence I don't want a "unitary executive" of either party. What I would like to see is the Patriot Act repealed, the MCA repealed, and our Constitution restored to its pre-2000 condition. If the Democrats will do that, I'll be both happy and impressed. Sadly, I doubt that will happen. Corporate American has the power now, and they won't use either of their political party pawns to strip that power away.

11. NRA would be dead
If a democratic president had the balls of the GOP
Hard right organizations such as the NRA would be in big trouble!
But then again, odds are that Red Joe Lieberman will be elected and thus any Democrat with balls would be stabbed in the back an neutered by droopy as soon as they spoke up!

16. When Muslims collect guns they are terrorists
When people like Tim McVeigh collect guns they are patriots.

I think we charged some Muslims for acts of terrorism for playing with paint ball guns.

14. That's why I am getting so afraid..........they will stop at nothing to hold onto
their power, because of the rather serious consequences to them if the shoe ever gets on the other foot.

15. I'd rather not imagine any president with the posers Bush has assumed
I wouldn't trust Jimmy Carter with that kind of power. He was about as honest a man as we've had in the White House in the last hundred years.
