Kerry just delivered them another "global test."
:spank:

It doesn't matter what he meant, it matters what's on the tape.

I can see the ads with military widows now. "Senator Kerry, mah husband was not dumb...."

1. Find the word military in what Kerry said.
The RW is the only one who thinks the military is dumb.

14. PLEASE.
Be honest with yourself. He was talking about the military, and we all know it.

He's RIGHT, but he needs to quit being right in one hand and providing soundbites in the other.

2. Chin up
I thought his comment was fine and his retort perfect. If they want a piece of Kerry it looks like he's up for the challenge, it isn't over yet.

3. Already one such military dad on CNN. "Mah son coulda went anywhere..."
Claimed he was a vet, too, and that his son was really smart, and "He coulda went anywhere he wanted to, but chose EYE-rak."

But you're right. Reality never matters to the right, and we still don't all seem to fully understand that. And this is one of "problems" with Kerry. Anyone with and ounce of intelligence can understand him when he speaks...which is why the right wingers never do.

8. Did the news media bother to ask if the troops
minded that weaponry brought over to Iraq and 'lost' by our military with no way to trace most of it, might be used, at this moment, to shoot at their kids?

Any apology forthcoming for that screw-up?

Yeah, they forgot to ask. The story was only in that little paper, the NYTimes.

4. Nah... like with that Ford ad, the only ones who will bite
are the ones who are already on their side.

Everyone else knows the reality behind his words. You have to TRY to be offended by that. The people who want to do that are members of a small and ever-shrinking group.

15. Absolutely! Sure hope they're working on it
because it's already getting all kinds of play, particularly when McCain comes out and makes a statement demanding an apology. The 'media' is all in a tizzy! "Ohh! Those two great friends Kerry and McCain are at it again! Will we see blood? Tune in next hour for updates!"

You know the repubs will throw everything at us, twist everything we say.

It is impossible to avoid their attacks. You just have to punch them back.

So gut up, or get out.

Statement of John Kerry Responding to Republican Distortions, Pathetic Tony Snow Diversions and Distractions

Washington – Senator John Kerry issued the following statement in response to White House Press Secretary Tony Snow, assorted right wing nut-jobs, and right wing talk show hosts desperately distorting Kerry’s comments about President Bush to divert attention from their disastrous record:

“If anyone thinks a veteran would criticize the more than 140,000 heroes serving in Iraq and not the president who got us stuck there, they're crazy. This is the classic G.O.P. playbook. I’m sick and tired of these despicable Republican attacks that always seem to come from those who never can be found to serve in war, but love to attack those who did.

I’m not going to be lectured by a stuffed suit White House mouthpiece standing behind a podium, or doughy Rush Limbaugh, who no doubt today will take a break from belittling Michael J. Fox’s Parkinson’s disease to start lying about me just as they have lied about Iraq. It disgusts me that these Republican hacks, who have never worn the uniform of our country lie and distort so blatantly and carelessly about those who have.

The people who owe our troops an apology are George W. Bush and Dick Cheney who misled America into war and have given us a Katrina foreign policy that has betrayed our ideals, killed and maimed our soldiers, and widened the terrorist threat instead of defeating it. These Republicans are afraid to debate veterans who live and breathe the concerns of our troops, not the empty slogans of an Administration that sent our brave troops to war without body armor.

Bottom line, these Republicans want to debate straw men because they’re afraid to debate real men. And this time it won’t work because we’re going to stay in their face with the truth and deny them even a sliver of light for their distortions. No Democrat will be bullied by an administration that has a cut and run policy in Afghanistan and a stand still and lose strategy in Iraq.”

12. And just like 2004
The Kerry haters just can't bring themselves to support Kerry and fight back, nah, they have to line up with Rove and spread the 'unity'.

To anyone who wasn't here in 2004, this kind of post is EXACTLY what was done, even when the truth was posted. Our own people lined up to throw rocks at OUR candidate instead of George Bush and Republicans. And here they are, ready to do it again.
