Kerry needs to get on Olbermann tonight
The media is continuing to skew the comment, and exclude the context in which it was made. Even after the press conference. Now, MSNBC is saying Bush is going to speak tonight.

If the context surrounding his comment does not get press, and his press conference does not get as much press, this will be bad.

The tickers are saying "Kerry refused to apopologize for comment", again, cutting out the context of his press conference today.

This is the crap that Karl Goebbels dreams about.

The dems can seize this, and come out against this propaganda, and push and push until election day. Or, we can let it slip through our fingers.

We need to get more press on this, complete press. The 2004 election showed how easily fooled our electorate can be, unfortunately.

I loved Kerry's press conference, but I still get an uneasy feeling. This is mainly from recent trends in our country's politics.

I suppose guarded optimism would explain my stance.

3. John Kerry's not running for any office
So why is it such a big deal what he said? It's all a media creation and proof that the repukes have nothing. All they can do is rip a guy who isn't running and may or may not have made a slip up.

4. Propaganda is all about the red herring
As long as we aren't talking about Iraq or Republican scandals, they have done their job.

It sickens me.

11. That's why every Democrat needs to turn it on
the meaning of what Kerry was saying - that the war is a mess, largely to a lack of planning and no oversight by a Republican Congress.

13. Bingo.
We can turn this around, our talking heads just need to out talk their talking heads and not take any of their propagandist BS.

6. Be optimistic. If the Repugs would shut up it would be just
one news cycle. By their spinning they will turn this into at least a 72 hour cycle - if not a 7 day story. Talking about the war in Iraq (and the soldiers)- its a losing issue for them. Their own game plan calls for them to discuss two (and only two) issues (1) the economy and (2) the WOT.

The fact that Bush is responding from the WH later today makes me think that Rove is out of town today and Karen is in charge.

8. "Kerry refused to apologize for comment"
Why should he? The pukes never do.

They admire it when their own refuses, but there is "wailing and gnashing of teeth" when it is a Dem.

10. Oh, he shouldn't apologize
I am just pointing out how it is playing over the press.

This crap should not even be an issue. It amazes me how something like this can change focus.

18. I understand. I was pointing out the hypocrisy of the press.
Don't these folks have family at home? My daughter would call me to task on such shit. I can hear her now..."you read JK's transcript and yet you spewed lies all day?"

In my household this would be almost unforgivable....and never ever understandable.

The interaction at home with their family has to be strange.

Especially if they have teenagers and mention the word "truth".

MEDIA PARENT: ...."now sweetie, tell the truth!"
TEEN: "why? You never do".

12. If Kerry doesn ot go on TV more & rebut, this will hurt DEMS.
Edited on Tue Oct-31-06 04:53 PM by Dr Fate
Kerry needs to make damn sure that a majority of TV viewers hear HIS side of the story.

I will be disappointed if he fails to see this.

If anyone is not allowing him on air, then I need to hear him say so in public.

14. Agreed.
If we press, this can help dems. "Look at the propaganda machine and how they are trying to change focus from issues that really affect Americans".

That press conference was effective, but there needs to be footage shown of what happened before the infamous comment. Context is everything.
