Poll question: Should John Kerry just STFU?
Edited on Tue Oct-31-06 05:59 PM by Texas Explorer
Considering John Kerry's gaffe where he inadvertantly flubbed what was supposed to be a dirisive joke about the shrubchimp but ended up sounding as if he was insulting the troops in Iraq, do you think he

32. That's all it was BS
Little reporting of the facts or context of the comment, mostly what other gas-bags had to say.

But calling bush a dumbass did make the news!

13. Amen.
Let's all form the circular firing squad now. I'm constantly amazed at how little it takes to turn some liberals against people on their own side.

he's at the mercy of pinheads looking for someone to step on to elevate themselves.

The whole question and wording is sickening. ST F U against a war veteran who is being swiftboated, again.

I don't think so.

8. Qualification: As of right now it is damaging. Kerry is capable of turning it around, however (and

it appears so far that he is moving in the right direction).

I think Kerry will be able to neutralize this; I hope he can turn this against the Republicans.

The Repukes will try to make something out of this but probably won't succeed with anyone but the most undecided of voters.

10. His response to it has created a great opportunity for advancement.
Had John Kerry had a more passive or contrite response it would have been a disaster. That's how I felt about his response to swift boat attacks and his response to the opposition hanging him with his vote on the war (I voted for it before I voted against it or whatever). Both of those were pretty pathetic. In fact there was a lot about is 2004 campaign that I found to be terrible.

However in this instance, he chose something different. He chose to stick to what his message was - flub or no flub - and CREATE an opportunity to really stick it to republicans. His strong, bold statements in the wake of the situation have be awesome. There is huge potential to actually make the republicans look like idiots and advance a very potent message about Bush / Republican incomitence and failing leadership.

He does seem to do that a lot. He should keep quiet unless he is scripted. His photo ops are amusing though and show he's one of us.

17. I voted STFU
not because I disagreed with his joke (not very funny, though). My vote was because, while his words were fairly powerful (in his rebuke to repukes), his voice lacked all conviction.

Too little, too late.

19. I am having trouble seeing Kerry's remarks as positive
Normally, this would have been said and the truth would reign, but we are living in the bu$h Amerika and the smear is full press. The media is going to help Karl Rove and the Reich Wing smear every candidate because of some words they were able to twist into something they are not. I have yet to see the MSM play the Kerry piece in full but they sure all have their commentary on it.

It is all BULL SHIT and it smells strongly like a ROVE turd.

23. Doesn't Matter What We Say or Who Says It. The Repiglican Media Will Spin It…
…into something damaging to us.

Our message doesn't matter. Most people will never hear it.

A majority of Americans will vote for us this year anyway,
or at least try to, just because we're not the Republicans.

Kerry is man who isn't afraid of the right wing. He is man who says what he means and means what he says. Like Harry Truman.

30. i would vote 1 & 4 but it's not an option.
and as much as i hate to agree with lou dobbs, it is an arrogant and elitist thing to say. and remember, sen kerry, your own sorry ass voted to allow dubya free rein to go into iraq, and even after we knew what a debacle and fiasco it was you reiterated that you would vote the same way again! but who's the bigger schmuck? you or me, who was toopit enough to work my ass off and try and get you elected? i think it was me, because you just fucking quit and left it up to the libertarians and the greens to fight your fight for you. and you don't get my vote for fucking street sweeper now ya fucktard. crawl back under your SUV you wouldn't even admit to owning without equivocating and STFU!

... lest their words be misconstrued by the opposition.

If none of us say anything at all, they won't be able to twist our intended meaning.

Problem solved.
