Should Dems's compile a group of high profile veterans to respond to Bush
Edited on Tue Oct-31-06 06:55 PM by Quixote1818
on this new Kerry issue? I would like to see Pat Tillman's brother, Duckworth, Hackett, Cleland, Wes Clark and a number of other power players, call a press conference and hit right back at Bush.

Have them ask Bush to apologize to our troops for mismanaging the war, and lying us into the war in the first place. Then have them tell Bush to stop playing politics with the troops and come up with a real plan for Iraq.

2. I sent an email to Jack Cafferty and asked him to follow up his Broken Government
effort with a BROKEN MILITARY documentary. Hell, the material writes itself--the equipment woes, the low quality of recruits, in terms of their physical fitness, mental and moral fitness, their medical issues, and their intelligence, the tactics used by recruiters to put unqualified personnel in service, the fact that EVERYONE nowadays passes boot camp, and EVERYONE gets promoted, no matter how lousy they are...there are just no STANDARDS anymore. I think it would be an eye-opener to these people who wave the flag and boast about how great our military is, when it is at its WORST in terms of preparedness than I have ever seen it.

3. good idea, but I bet REpugs are gonna want to move on real soon
Kerry kicked their asses today, and it has brought the focus back to Iraq, rather than their bogus wedge issues.

4. I also think the American people are getting tired of these tactics by Bush
They are starting to see right through this crap. It may rally up the base a little though.

5. Cleland already did
Love that man.

Vietnam veteran and former U.S. Sen. Max Cleland of Georgia defended Kerry and applauded the senator for showing "our party how to fight back with the truth."

"John Kerry is a patriot who has fought tooth and nail for veterans ever since he came home from Vietnam. He has stood with his brothers in arms unlike this administration, which exploits our troops to make a political point and divide America," Cleland said in a statment.

6. It's not getting enough press though. We need something BIG
with a number of high profile veterans. We need to shift the focus off Kerry and make it a fight between Veterans and Bush.

8. for whatever my agreement with you is worth, I agree with you!
It'd be great for people who DID serve to hold a press conference to talk about how Bush owes the troops and their families an apology.

7. Iraq vets for truth
I would love watching the righties mindlessly smearing them and self imploding on yet another issue.

9. Yes
If we want to shut down this non-story quickly as possible, then this should be done.

10. Do "The Troops" really need anybody to explain to them, that John Kerry
is one of them? That he has worn the uniform and put his ass on the line for his country? Do they really have any trouble understanding that? If so, then they really are dumb.
