Some gems from the land of backwash and make believe
Here's my Christmas visit with the parents in a nutshell. They live in Johnson County Kansas, BushBot central, the land that apparently doesn't participate in reality.

1. Terra is everywhere now, not just here. Even France will have to get on board soon.

2. Dad and I think it's WWIII.

3. All the Iraqis love our troops (Because Mom knows one family with a troop who had a short tour in Kurdistan)

4. If you have cancer in Canada or Europe, you have to go to the US to get good health care. (Again Mom knows someone who knows someone else who lives in Canada, and he just HATES universal healthcare)

5. The Democrats will investigate, waste time and money, and no Republicans will be found guilty of anything. "But but but, what about that guy from N.O. with stolen money in his freezer?"

6. Parents should lose their children if they're caught with a bag of pot. :grr:

All this from parents who forbid political talk in the house. :eyes: I honestly thought they would admit defeat this year, but I was wrong. They're still pure Bushbots, although Dad was pretty quiet this time. I didn't say a thing because I was honoring our agreement not to talk politics.

How'd everyone else's Faux Newz Christmas go?

1. Luckily, no Bushbots in my family
or circle of friends. You have my sympathies, though.

2. You don't know how lucky you are
My gut has been tied in knots for the past two days. It was so frustrating and sad to witness.

6. My parents have a pic of Pickles and Chimperor on their fridge
saying "best wishes on your 50th anniversary, blah blah" and every time I visit I point to it and tell them, "What assholes" and while they're not looking, I turn it over! THey always turn it back around though. Sigh....

4. the in-laws was pretty funny
her dad still stands by the shrub because he gave him a job (retired air force) in civil service because he expanded the need.

When I tried to explain that that statement was the dumbest thing I had ever heard I got sharp jab in the ribs from the little woman and more egg-nogg.

5. Maybe I should take up drinking next year
It's hard to do sober, and I really try my hardest.
