Reminiscent of the Brazilian-shot-in-London incident. Convenient lies that were promoted and backed away from in careful step-by-step increments.

They claimed that she was trying to unfurl a banner. The press duly noted that and ran with it as the gospel truth.

No "police allege that..." or "it was claimed that..."

not as "Capital Police said." So aren't they on the hook to explain how they got it wrong...twice? :shrug:

7. I am STILL trying to confirm that CNN showed unexplained"footage"

of a banner being unfurled over a balconey when they initally reported on this story. I read this account in a thread on KOS but haven't been able to verify from another source that CNN actually did this.
