1. I can't imagine what ELSE she's qualified to do ...
So she must be planning to spend more time with her family.

8. Had to think about it for a minute, then remembered that she was
the one assigned to teach ethics to administration members after the whole Plamegate/Scooter Libby thing! I guess the job's been completed and they're all completely ethical now!

7. They are not looking for attention. . .
. . .they are looking to hide it. All the evening news and morning papers will be about the changes on the Hill. This is most likely not an attention grab, but an attempt to hide bad and embarrassing news.

11. Myers, Negroponte...who's next?
It's not going to be too tough for them to hide things though. Between Bush's scolding to the Nation next week, threats to Democrats, and the start of the Libby trial poor Britney's just going to have to get in line.

23. Pondering what's going on behind the curtains - do you think she
and Negroponte are part of private recommendations from the Baker group of advisors? Or are they needing time to hire lawyers to defend themselves?

I personally wish that the people of Central America would rise up to investigate the role played by Negroponte in the massacres that have taken place in many of those countries.

31. I'll extend a little, teensy weensy smidgeon of 'meh'
due to historically there is turnover with new terms. But the level of filling seats from within is unprecedented with Bush.

I have no doubt the Harriett has a full list of vetted nominees at the ready for the Judiciary (including SCOTUS) and she's not leaving until Jan. 31. It's going to be interesting to see who Josh Bolten taps to move into her seat.

27. Ha ha ha.
Harriet is probably leaving cause she knows what's was coming down the pike from Congress and that she'll be stuck in the middle of it.

A question though - if she resigns, will Congress still be able to call her to testify?

33. Bush needs a REAL lawyer you know competent and intelligent
and stuff like that to deal with MY MAN, Conyers and some others. That's what me thinks. WOW Chimpy is not as DUMB as he looks! Or maybe it's Plame whatever it IS, Ms. Myers was no match for the fighting DEMS. Me hopes.
