We are our brothers' keepers. This is where we need to draw a
bright line with the Rs, particularly the RR contingent.

I was thinking about that lady that killed all those employees at that post office yesterday. A person with mental health problems who possibly couldn't afford her medications or obtain them now. Patty Murray, I believe, was just now on the floor of the Senate talking about how people, elderly and those with mental illness, have been coming up to her and telling her they would rather kill themselves than suffer because of the complexities of the prescription program. They are pushing children and people with disabilities out of health care. This is at once a sin and a shame. It is disgraceful.

We are our brothers' keepers. We have a moral obligation for our community, particularly the weakest among us.

1. amazing
Excellent post. It's amazing how in general people don't care or an unaware of people with these problems. A lot of people simply say "It ain't my problem."

2. They figure there are no problems
because they don't see the mentally ill or vets roaming the streets looking for soda cans and plastic to recycle, or a cardboard box to live in...it's not in their neighborhoods (the country or the rich, gated neighborhoods)...but when I'm at work and see little old ladies dumpster diving at the meat plant next door, well it's a real tear jerker...
