That Bastard: Rumsfeld, Of Course
No one is this vile administration pisses me off more than that disgusting boor. He just indirectly compared Chavez to Hitler, by saying he was elected by popular mandate just the way Hitler was. What a pig he is.

1. cali, have you read "State of War" by James Risen?
Risen's description of Rumsfeld's power is frightening. He and Dick Cheney are the ones driving our entire foreign policy, and our national security. He fights dirty and has even thumbed his nose at Bush.

He is a liar and a bully who will stop at NOTHING to get what he wants.

2. Hitler was not elected
He never got a majority vote, and before he assumed office, his polls were going down. He convinced people to have a feeble Hindenburg appoint him chancellor. The people who arranged it were under the illusion they could keep Hitler under control. But he took advantage of the Reichstag fire (provably started by a single mentally ill individual) to get the Enabling Act passed, and things went downhill from there.

That was hardly the point I was making.

8. Hitler was playing the "terror" card
somewhat like Bush is doing now; but Hitler did it much more aggressively. The fire was an excuse to assume extra power, again somewhat like Bush is doing. There are some similarities, but we aren't close to a 30s Germany situation yet.

Rumsfeld's argument can be used against any election winner that Bush doesn't like.

3. Not long ago there was a blog or magazine or something -- I can't
remember where I read it but it was great -- suggested a strategy for converting proper names of Republican fascists like Rick Santorum and Don Rumsfeld into common nouns for thus far unnamed things.

I won't detail the example of 'Santorum' to 'santorum,' as this is a monitored medium and the subject matter would provoke censure.

But another suggestion was 'Rumsfeld' to 'rumsfeld,' and its definition was the deeply-dug under-structure beneath an outhouse.

So, instruction manuals on building outhouses would include the phrase, "...when digging the rumsfeld beneath the outhouse, make sure it's plenty deep."

5. Rumsfailed is a War Criminal.

Rumsfailed Admitted to Violating Geneva Convention

Rumsfailed admitted in public on TV that when CIA Director Tenet requested that an Iraqi prisoner be sent to a secret Afghan/US Prison that Rumsfailed did so. After four months a DOD Attorney stated that this was an illegal act. Rumsfailed then ordered that this prisoner be sent back to Abu Graihib but the prisoner was purposefully not listed at that location, also an illegal act. Rumsfeld also admitted to signing orders for tougher interogation methods which violated the Geneva Conventions.

Rumfailed has commited at least three violations of the Geneva Convention thereby also violations of The Constitution of the USA. Recently it has been found out that even more detainees were "ghost detainees". The fact that Rumsfailed and Tenet have not been charged speaks volumes. If Congress wishes to garner any respect they should move forward with Rep. Rangle's Impeachment Declaration of Rumsfailed and also prosecute Ex. CIA Tenet.

The US, Govt., Congress, and the Justice Dept no longer abide by the Geneva Convention or the Constitution of the USA.

7. I saw that, too.
I thought that meant Rummy could just as easily compare all our presidents except 43 with Hitler until I read the post below stating that Hitler was actually appointed.
