Jack:

I am a freelance political cartoonist (www.notbannedyet.us), and I read a lot of these things every day. I saw Toles' cartoon before I heard the flap, and I must be frank; I have no idea what the fuss is about. Not for one fleeting moment did I think this cartoon was meant to show any sort of disrespect for our soldiers. I don't know of anyone who has felt the tragic direction of this "war" is in any way reflective of the brave men and women who've given their own personal freedom to fight it.

I took it for just what it was...a stinging commentary on the grossly inept, self-serving corporatist chickenhawks who think they're playing some sort of game with the lives and livelihoods of billions of world citizens.
