Forget for just a moment the personal sacrifices and emotional cost of the families who have loved ones in this war. Forget for just a moment the societal impact this war has had on our country and our politics. Forget for just a moment the fact that almost 2500 men and women and countless hundreds of thousands of Iraqis have died....and consider this little gem of an article I found on MSNBC:

President Bush will ask Congress for another $70 billion for the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, congressional sources said Thursday. The sources said that money, which would come on top of about $330 billion for the wars so far, would be for this fiscal year. The White House likely will seek another $50 billion in emergency money in the fiscal 2007 defense spending bill, the sources said. The $70 billion would fund the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan for the remainder of this fiscal year, which ends Sept. 31. The $50 billion for the 2007 budget is not expected to be enough for the entire year.

330+70+50 = $450 Billion...A HALF-TRILLION DOLLARS!

Meanwhile, Congress voted yesterday to support Bush's Deficit Reduction Act which cut almost all Federal Student Loan Aid and eliminated Oxygen as a Medicaid/Medicare paid service...because...well...we need to watch our spending.

Iraq is six million a month and one hundred forty thous soldiers.

but the admin lumps them togoether to pretend that the suckass Iraq war had something to do with Osama and terrorism, and to hide where it is and isn't making an effort.
