My Form Letter From Sen. Lieberman
I apologize if anyone has already posted something similar but I think this lovely little blow-off e-mail from Sen. Lieberman shows exactly why people need to actully make phone-calls and send physical faxes. I think it shows why people actually need to make pests of themselves if anything real is ever going to get done.

I received this in response to an e-mail sent requesting that the Senator do the right thing and filibuster the Alito nomination.

Dear Friend:

Thank you for taking the time to contact me. I appreciate the
opportunity to know your opinions on the pressing issues facing our
nation. Regrettably, due to the huge volume of mail that I receive, I am
only able to research and address comments sent to me from Connecticut
residents. If you are not from Connecticut, you may want to consider
sending a message to the Senators from your state of residence. You can
do so by visiting http://www.senate.gov/ for a link to the web sites of
each member of the United State Senate. If you are currently residing out
of state, but are still a Connecticut resident or have a connection to
Connecticut, please be certain to use your Connecticut address or indicate
your Connecticut connection in the first paragraph of your email.

I value having the benefit of your thoughtful concerns, since I do
receive detailed weekly reports from my staff providing a sampling of
comments from across the country on timely issues before Congress.

My official Senate web site is an excellent source of information about
my work here. As you know, you can access the site at
http://lieberman.senate.gov. I encourage you to visit my web site, or if
you have already done so, to return to it often. I am also pleased to let
you know that I have launched an email news update service through my web
site. You can sign up for that service by visiting
http://lieberman.senate.gov and clicking on the "Subscribe Email News
Updates" button at the bottom of the home page. I hope these are
informative and useful.

Thank you again for letting me know your views and concerns.

Sincerely,

Joseph I. Lieberman
UNITED STATES SENATOR

Thanks Senator, I only wish that I lived in Connecticut so that I could vote against you.

Chris

1. I got three of them........
what a piece of crap that guy is. He's too busy kissing bush's ass to respond to anyone. Apparently, Lieberman has no conscience whatsoever and thinks he's doing a good job for his constituents. His only real concern is for Israel.

2. Yup. I've gotten several of the same...
... in the last few days.

So much for "Joementum."

As far as I'm concerned, Lieberman can make a diet of Bush's dingleberries.

3. Next time he runs for President, we'll remember how sweet
he was to people from outside his home state.

4. I haven't gotten any Liebermans, but I have gotten three Bidens
two Clintons and a Kerry. Considering the dozens of faxes and emails I sent last weekend, I was expecting more :P I can't wait to get my form letter from Olympia Snowe explaining her vote. I think I can already predict how it will read...

I do like how Lieberman's auto-reply letters are addressed to "Friend."

5. When he runs for President
save this, and hand it to him at a rally explaining you can't vote for him because you are not from Connecticut. And if you don't mind, we should all keep a copy and do the same.

6. I wrote a scathing E-Mail to MY OWN Sen. Nelson on the fillibuster issue
and I did not even get a FORM E-MAIL for my trouble. I guess you should feel lucky that Holy Joe at least tipped his crown in your general direction.

7. If he won't answer your letters he shouldn't take your money.
The rote reply from Senators to phone calls, emails, and letter is that if you're not a constituent they can't waste time talking to you. Fair enough. Then there should be a law preventing them from taking money from anyone who isn't a constituent as well. I'm sure he'd be more than happy to take a $2000.00 check from you. Hell at least have better form letters that don't snub you so.

This goes for all Senators.

10. After Hurricaine Katrina
I tried to send emails to leadership in the House and Senate. The difference between the Democratic and Republican strategies was eyeopening and evidence of some of the problems that Democrats have. I never could figure out how to contact Nancy Pelosi from her website. It made contact possible only from members of her district. On the otherhand, I'm still getting emails from Bill Frist. The Democrats made contact difficult, seeing non-constituent contact as a problem. The Republicans saw it as an opportunity. And these were people in leadership, who should be seeing their role as beyond their immediate constituents.
