So, are the original cartoons of the Prophet, part of Rumsfeld's propagand
Edited on Fri Feb-03-06 06:01 PM by HereSince1628
a campaign?

If one accepts that Bush would put a U2 spyplane, its pilot, and its escort fighters and pilots at risk just to start a war...Do you think that Rumsfeld would have cartoons produced that would inflame the Islamic world, including IRAN and folks like OBL and Zarqawi?

1. Good question
What was the name of that Public Relations Company that the administration hired to do "perception management"?

The problem is this: We can't trust ANYTHING about this administration and we can't assume that ANYTHING is beyond them.

4. Well, that is certainly without doubt, or shared rationale.

6. There is not an iota of reasoning to support or contemplate that theory.
Not every single news story that is negative is somehow tied to the Bush Cabal. When we throw out these preposterous theories at everything it delegitimizes the ones that are worthy of contemplation and instead lends credence to the RW talking points that liberals feel that every bad thing that happens is because of bush.

They didn't plant the cartoons, they didn't plant the t-shirt woman, but they definitely planted false intelligence leading up to the iraq invasion.

9. Ok,. but to be perfectly clear that's your opinion,.
all I did was ask a question.

Turn that into a dog turd if you think you can but your several statements are not substantiated with anymore than disbelief. That is hardly counter evidence.

13. All I Did Was Respond To It.
It is my Strong opinion, supported by all right now that is logical and facts available, that the theory put forth is absurd, highly improbable and one that makes us look silly and fosters the rw's reasons for saying when a light bulb blows out we blame bush.

You can't disprove it either if I said "do you think Cindy Sheehan planted the cartoons so we could blame the RW and she could have something else to protest?"

No, you couldn't, but that statement would be every single bit as absurd and unlikely as the alternative put forth in the OP.

15. I asked a question. You supplied the opinion. You Are entitled to it.
One of the problems with "our" side is that we have no appreciation at all for the Team B mentality that RULES all of the Cheney/Rumsfeld efforts.

The answer to my question might well be no. But it requires information that neither you or I will EVER have access to. The honest answer is WE CANNOT KNOW.

If we choose one side or the other we only display our bias.

17. It can just as readily display ignorance.
Sometimes, it is a no brainer to be able to forge a likely opinion over an alternate opinion.

This is one of those times. The concept put forth is as absurd as saying cindy sheehan did it. I would consider it a display of foolishness and ignorance to ponder and actually contemplate if Cindy is to blame for this, wouldn't you? But yet you'd have no facts to support it.

You said the answer to your question might well be no. Rest assured with confidence that it is.

19. No, it is not. What motive would Cindy Sheehan have?
The US Team B-style players have a perceptible motive for fomenting Muslim hatred, and polarizinge Europeans. It seems well within the outcomes Cheney/Rumsfeld could desire if you accept as true yesterday's report that they also wanted to fly a disguised U-2 over Iraq for the sole purpose of having it fired upon and thus precipitate a war.

So, at this time when hardening American European and Muslim opinion would be very useful at the UN we have this "event." Could it be an American information operation?

Again I only posited a question. I don't think the real answer is knowable with the information available to us. Any postion on its truth or falsity must orbit around our own beliefs/disbeliefs.

20. Sometimes The Real Answer Can Be Deduced Simply By Intellect And Logic.
Hence why so many people can be convicted based on circumstancial evidence alone.

And enough with the I just asked a question. I know you just asked a question. The answer to it is a resounding NO LOL

11. What I meant, of course,
was that here we are discussing whether the cartoon was a pentagon controlled "psych-ops" effort and the all of a sudden a guy (I think) with a screen name of "operationmindcontrol" replys with a cryptic: "No".

That just struck me as hilarious......

didn't mean any offense and I apologize if it came off as snippy...and I also didn't know where the name came from (yes, I'm an old fart) :hi:

Happens to me all the time when I read certain posts. I crack up with perceiving things certain ways even though I know the poster didn't mean them that way, so I hear ya :)

Great album though, by the way

8. No. Let's not allow rational hatred of
bushco overwhelm commonsense. This is a problem that has long been percolating throughout Europe, where there is a far larger Muslim percentage of the population than in the US. And in many ways, European countries haven't handled the two culture problem well. For instance, France outlawed head scarves for school girls. In Germany there's been a real problem with honor killings. Cultures are colliding, and it ain't pretty.

Don't get me wrong, there's not much I'd put out of the realm of possibility when it comes to bushco, but this, alas, is an outgrowth of a long simmering problem.

that?

Shit, Rummy and Bush are looking for an excuse to light up Iran's nuclear related industries! You don't think this is WELL TIMED to influence European and UN Security Council opinion???????????????

16. Let me put it this way
rather than my polite first post: I think the idea that Rumsfeld is behind this is laughable. As the old saw goes; if you hear hoof beats in the dark of night on Central Park West, think horses, not zebras. Occam's Razor.

But again. I asked a question. It cannot be answered with available information.

All we do is posture around our own beliefs.
