We need to write and call C-SPAN! This is outrageous! Instead they have the pResident's Prayer Breakfast on. I called the comments line 765.464.3080 and the box is full, BUT if you wait on the line you will get a recording and you can press 8 to dial by name in the company directory. I pressed 7648 (for Smith) on a hunch that there was someone named Smith, and I was right!!!! Then you can leave your message. Also, you can email them at events@c-span.org and viewer@c-span.org I always thought C-SPAN was unbiased, but apparently they were threatened by the Bushies! Make a stink!!!!! And please, vote this up!
on edit: It is now the wake for Coretta King, which of course should be aired, but they could use C-SPAN 2 or 3!

1. They also do not have the Senate hearing with Blanco archived
(Kind of off topic but I can't start a thread.)
An email sent to viewer@c-span.... gets a automatic form letter in return. They were going to re-broadcast the hearing and then reneged. They do not have this meeting available for online viewing and I find that kind of strange....

On Thursday Feb 2, 2006. Blanco had the following comments concerning Bush's attempt to take over the military in Louisiana before he allowed them to help out:

Collins: What was being proposed was that General Honoree the active duty general would report both to you and the secretary of defense. Is that not correct?

Blanco: Well that's essentially correct. As I said it was a hybrid. They spent all day trying to figure out how to federalize without actually federalizing. I guess....I'm not quite sure what that exercise was all about. In essence the drama moments were settled by the Louisiana National Guard and the Guard members from 50 states, 4 territories and Washington DC and I couldn't get one federal government to move it's troops in to assist. You know at that point in time this hybrid arrangement coming to me at midnight just seemed a little like posturing rather than that of a real solution.
