Do you think they Bush Gang is wiretapping Fitzgerald?
Do you think they wiretapped intel analysts in the run-up to the war?

1. Of course they've wiretapped Fitzgerald
no question about it.

And we know they bugged the UN offices of Security Council members. I've no doubt they wiretapped intel analysts.

3. Pretty easy to stay one step ahead of their legitimate opposition,
check & balances, investigations (now where did those darn emails go?), truth-tellers, etc....

25. It depends on the bear.
There is no constitutional ban on bears shitting in the ones, yet bears in cages for ages without right to trial must shit in their cages.

10. I've thought about this.
You have Rove, who has stooped to accusing others of wiretapping his candidate's headquarters, even when they didn't. He would totally wiretap someone else if he got the chance. That's just how his mind works. He plays dirty.

13. Just for the sake of argument, wouldn't it have been pretty easy
for the Kerry campaign to talk about a false story then wait to see if it surfaced? The Japanese lost a lot of people and aircraft carriers at Midway because they broadcast a ruse.

21. But the Kerry people were terrorists.
They were undermining the war effort. Kerry had a history from the Vietnam days of harming the morale of the military and giving aid and comfort to the enemy. Of COURSE they bugged them in the interest of national security.

5. Do you think Bushco could restrain themselves?
No way.

Have you seen any restraint anywhere?

These guys believe that they are above the law and on par with God.

in his lines or to put out disinformation to see if someone acted on it. Second question is also no, wiretapping implies that the person whose calls are being monitored thinks they are not, no intelligence analyst would expect their phone conversations NOT to be listened in on.

Like drug dealers do--they get a phone and a shitload of cards, and use it for a month or two, and then toss it.

20. Fitzgerald is a credible threat to the organization defending America
Quakers protesting the war are worthy of spying on.

I have to believe that Fitzgerald who is engaged in activity that could depopulate the staffs of the top echelons of the American GWOT is a threat.
