When linking to a post on a blog, always try to use its permalink. That way, you can find the story a day, week, or month later.

Like O'Reilly, I think it's only a matter of time before he either: goes off and gets violent himself or someone beats the tar out of him.

If the Dems even regain power, they really need to re-regulate the media (and cable). The epidemic of lying and hate speech has gone way too far. 20 years ago, this would have been unacceptible behavior and repeated instances would have gotten a broacaster's license yanked.

...because it's really difficult to win an argument with these people.

Even if you are right and an eloquent speaker--they change the subject, deal low blows and they also ask impossible questions. "Are you telling me that you AGREE that it's ok to make fun of an injured soldier? Is that what you are saying...that you find joy when someone ridicules a brave soldier who has lost his arms and legs? Go ahead! I want to hear you defend making fun of soldiers with no arms!"

It's impossible. They're so good at being weasels on acid, and twisting the argument.

It's like they all go to the same "how to be really evil" school.

It's toxic and very difficult to hear.

10. I actually like the fact...

...that the guy had the balls to point out that the Constitution is what protects our free speech, not soldiers fighting to liberate Iraqis. And when he asked, "who is threatening our rights more, the Iraqis or the Bush administration?" Hannity always goes back to that same argument because he figures no one can dare say anything less than positive about the troops. Hannity's probably the most despicable of all the right-wing media nutjobs, and that's saying alot. Ted Rall should have just knocked his ass out right there on live TV, I would have been giddy :)

You would think that they understood that the cartoon was pointing out the unfair treatment that the soldiers receive--not the soldiers themselves; however, their response is prolly just their version of "How dare you speak the truth. We have to support the troops!"
