What are you doing to protest NSA spying on American citizens?
Real question. My phone company is AT&T, and they handed the NSA access to their database. I also have a Yahoo! account, and they handed over user searches.

The only thing I could come up with was to email Yahoo! and complain, and then call the AT&T corporate offices and complain. It takes forever and is inconclusive.

I probably should call my House rep but can't help feeling she has so much on her hands (Pelosi) that coming up with a different response might be a better use of my time and her time.

What do you think, DU? If Congress is going to contest the pResident's claim that domestic spying is just okie dokie, we have to give them some public concern to point to. What form should it take?

(Hey, Special Agent Loser -- where is OSAMA?)

2. Good morning, redwitch. I don't know how to find out.
The AT&T collusion was reported and that's how I found out.

Calling and asking might put Verizon on notice but might not be a very good way to get information. When I called my phone company, the supervisor I spoke to seemed surprised and she asked me to email her the article.

Hmmm.

I read the ACLU has filed a class action. Maybe a call to your local ACLU?

4. I went to the very wet protest on 4 Feb in DC
It was four hours of wet and cold protesting but I believe I have contributed to defending our constitution. I think there were about 5,000 people at the apex of the rally. People would come, get too wet, then leave, to come back later for the march around the WH. There were about 14 protesters of the protest. Seven repukes were seen running away from the cold and wet and another eight were in front of the WH protected by a line of shoulder to shoulder DC police. I guess they were afraid of us. I yelled at them that they should be in Iraq. People from all over the country were there. If the weather had in anyway been good I think we would have had a much larger crowd. By the time I got to the hotel, I was soaked all the way to my underwear and shivering. Now I have a slight head cold but I think it was well worth it. Here is a link some news reports and video. Enjoy!

6. I changed my e-mail sig line
It now reads:

NOTICE: Due to Presidential Executive Orders, Agent Mike (a.k.a. USAF General Michael Hayden) of the National Security Agency may have read this email without warning, warrant, or notice. He can do this without any judicial or legislative oversight. You have no recourse nor protection save to call for the impeachment of the current President.
