Say goodbye to the Bill of Rights - listening to today's hearings so
far, and I cannot but feel overwhelmed that the Judiciary committee is gonna vote/decide along party lines on *'s authority to tap us in a "war" that will never end.
:cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry:
See Alito for results

1. Seems liek the most likely outcome, but I will cling to a shred of hope
for the moment anyway.

5. *sigh*
Same here... I find myself wishing during these hearings somebody would say two things:

1. Why haven't you caught OBL yet or does having him free serve your agenda better? (Whenever
the A.G. evokes the sacred National Defense/9ll mumbo-jumbo.)

2. How are things worse now than they were in 1976 when the Soviet Union was poised to
blow the U.S. off of the planet? (Whenever the A.G. evokes the "Time's are a changn'" defense.)

2. Agreed!
No more civil rights, no more middle-class, no more freedom (as we know it), etc.

These are very sad times indeed.

3. IConsidering the legasl, ethical issues AND how many people are opposed...
.....to the tapping, then if they choose to allow it, it will be the definitive sign that our government is broken beyond repair.

What I want to know, is how can people worry about appearing "weak" on defense when its CLEAR that the majority of people oppose the wiretaps?
