Virtual March to Stop Global Warming

Why We Are Marching

Global warming is not just an environmental issue that affects wildlife and wilderness areas -- it is also a problem that will directly impact our economy and national security. Higher global temperatures will lead to rising sea levels, more extreme weather events, food shortages, and extinctions beyond anything humankind has ever experienced.

The scientific consensus is that the climate is changing and human activity is causing it. Recent reports show we may be fast approaching a “tipping point” when it is too late to act. But with urgent action, we can take steps to take ourselves back from the brink of disaster.

We’ve joined the Stop Global Warming Virtual March on Washington because we believe that the Bush Administration and Congress have been unwilling to listen to their constituents.

Together with our supporters, we will be marching to let our elected officials know that urgent action is needed to confront this problem -- before it is truly, and irreversibly, too late.
