Examples of lies - the "Today" style
I came in the middle of Matt Lauer interviewing someone about lies. So they ran that infamous Clinton "I did not have sex with that woman."

Will they ever run Bush declaring that one needs the court approval to wiretap citizens? Or that there are no secret, unauthorized wiretapping? (I'd leave the WMD in Iraq alone, since, in theory, he was duped by Chalabi et al.. can give him the benefit of the doubt)

2. Clinton's (foolish) lie is obvious, strikes at the gut, and . . .
Has been acknowledged. Bush's are obscured, require analysis and thought, and are still being denied.

From a TV point of view, you gotta go with the starkest of examples or you'll miss your audience.

Bush will get there, but I'm not sure it'll be the wiretapping lie. How about "compassionate conservative?"

3. Yes, Clinton's is more TV-genic. Last week Al Franken ran
a speech by Bush from Buffalo, I think, where he specifically said that only the court can authorize wiretapping. That this was the law.

All they need to do is borrow some of the juxtapositions from Jon Stewart.
