Newest theory on where Iraq's WMD's are....
Edited on Mon Feb-06-06 03:54 PM by Blue Belle
I heard this on Fox News yesterday while I was flipping through the channels. They were interviewing General Sada and he was saying that there was a covert operation to move the WMDs to Syria.

I couldn't find yesterday's transcript, but here's a snippet of what they were talking about from a previous day... apparently, this "Story" has been circulating on Fox News for awhile:

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,182941,00.html

<SNIP>The number two general in Saddam Hussein's air force says Iraq moved its weapons of mass destruction into Syria before the U.S. invasion. In a new book titled "Saddam's Secrets," former general Georges Sada recounts the story of two airline pilots who told him Saddam's Republican Guard loaded chemical weapons onto two converted civilian aircraft, which the pilots then flew into neighboring Syria under the guise of humanitarian relief.

Sada tells FOX News he believes the Syrian government knows exactly where the weapons are saying, "I am sure that these weapons have landed in Damascus. Where could they have gone?"

I find it fascinating that 3 years after our invasion this guy comes forward with this "News" (I guess the general had to secure a book deal before he came forward). What kills me though, is the head of the House Intelligence committee (Peter Hoekstra) was hot to investigate this lead. Sure, they'll investigate an allegation from a turn-coat General of the Iraqi Guard... but they won't investigate an official document like the Downing Street Minutes - either the old one or the newly released document.

I guess they're still fixing the facts around the excuse for invasion. :eyes:

3. Yeah, Rummy said the other day that they still might be found.
I guess the desperation factor is really getting to its maximum limitation.

7. He's been
in US custody for at least 2.5 of those 3 years, I don't think "investigate" is quite the word. Syria isn't that where those "crazy" Muslims burned an embassy or 2 this weekend? What a (another) "lucky coincidence" for *, guess we're finding out what they mean by some of our troops will be out Iraq by the end of the year.

8. Pure bullshit
First they are there... and BushCo knows exact quantities, etc. Then, oh my gosh! We were mislead! Bad intelligence! But that's ok because Saddam is a very bad man... now we are back to this? Which blatant lie are we supposed to overlook in order for this "new" information to be believable?

11. The 'former Iraqi general' is selling a book.
The weapons inspectors we sent in came back with the conclusion that there were no weapons or weapons programs. End of story. The rest is just bullshit. Oh and this is a re-tread, the 'former Iraq General' story is a few weeks old.

14. you'd think that if they found actual Iraqi documents proving this theory
that it would be a 24/7 loop on MSRNC, Fox, and CNN. You'd think that if these Bush Agenda parroting "news" agencies were privy to this information, they'd make sure everyone knew about it.
