Who gave the best punches? Re: The Gonzo show.
Edited on Mon Feb-06-06 06:58 PM by The Backlash Cometh
The ones I remembered where to look:

Leahy: "Did any member of this committee...tell you we couldn't write a law that would allow you to go after Al Qaeda the way you were talking about?...You're saying that you were told by members of Congress we couldn't write a law that would fit it and now you're telling us that the committee that has to write the law was never asked. Does this sound like a CYA on your part? It does to me."

Feinstein: Why didn't you come for a change in FISA? <Then she recites a list of amendments to FISA, requested and approved by Congress> "In view of the changes that we have made, I cannot understand why you didn't come to the committee unless the program was much broader and you believed it would not be authorized."

Graham: It's either illegal, or the Congress has no power.

Who has Feingold's best quote?

1. Feingold said
"The Republicans say the Democrats have a pre-9/11 mindset. George Bush has a pre-1776 mindset." That's roughly what he said, according to the Ed Schultz show.

2. Leahy, Feinstein and Feingold in that order. Graham was the only tough
questioner for the Repubs.

5. It also bothers me that a Republican came up with the best soundbite.

Did anyone else just see that? It was awesome. I still hate him but damn!!!

ON EDIT: Gonzales was threatening that further investigation into the matter could trigger a constitutional crisis. He said a "Smart Guy" like Arlen should know that. Arlen showed him what a hostile chairman looked like. He recommended they take the program to the FISA court and hope they agree in the legality of the program or there will be a Constitutional Crisis. It was fucking great.

He is tearing Gonzo a new one at the end of this hearing!

9. Feingold brought up his nomination hearing testimony WRT
Edited on Mon Feb-06-06 07:16 PM by Gabi Hayes
'hypothetical' eavesdropping scenario, when they'd ALREADY been doing it, and said to Gonzalez, "if you'd TOLD THE TRUTH" back then about this....blah blah

I've seen the exchange threee times since 5PM; twice on CNN and once on ABC Nightly News

that was pretty amazing....didn't accuse him of lying, he came right out and STATED that he didn't tell the truth during his confirmation hearings

that's PERJURY, baby!

PERjury!
