Remember the "keeping our powder dry" Gonzales logic?
Edited on Mon Feb-06-06 08:21 PM by DancingBear
Sure you do - way back when at his confirmation hearings. A lot of folks here on DU literally screamed that the Dems MUST draw the line in the sand at the Gonzales nomination, for if he gets confirmed he will literally strew roses at the feet of King George.

So today, we got to watch as the Republican lap dogs, under strict orders no doubt, let a Category 1 liar slip into the Senate and lie with fearless "truth is for suckers' impunity about a crime that would get you or I twenty-five to life.

We said if he gets in it would be the beginning of the end. I fear it will be, for I can almost (sadly) guarantee that by the time Jeff Sessions and the boys clean their respective blue dresses up we'll see that the message of Do As I Say Not As I Do is now the new national motto.

Oh, and we managed to keep the powder dry for Alito, too.

Get ready, pray like hell that Patrick Fitzgerald stays healthy, and tell Mary Landrieu that those Katrina funds will show up any day now.

As tax cuts.

1. Well, think about it. Under the best of circumstances, this is a fight
between the Congress and the Executive branch over their defined powers.

Who do you think is left to break the tie?

3. The Supreme Court
That's what the judiciary branch does. And this program is so BLATANTLY illegal that even a conservative court would have to strike it down. (I like it in my fantasy world, please don't make me leave it).

7. I wouldn't think of messing with your fantasy world.
I'm busy knitting me a blankie so I can have something to hide under.

5. There's a scary thought
Republicans in blue dresses. But I'll bet Sessions swallows.

What does Mary Landrieu have to say about Mayor Nagin looking overseas for rebuilding funds. She should have jumped in the sack with Hugo Chavez instead of the chimp.

8. Porter Goss too
In a time when it was fairly clear that the CIA normal process had been corrupted by partisan pressure, a partisan congressman, Goss, gets the nod for CID.
