Edited on Tue Feb-07-06 07:26 AM by flordehinojos
sitting there, spewinglies to congress? jimmy carter has got him right when he says, (my paraphrase) bush pays gonzalez's salary so, of course, gonzalez is gonna lie for him. that, to me, is a man of no integrity for doing the right thing, saying the right thing, and knowing the right thing, should not be incumbent upon who pays your salary.

what a different caliber in human beings between janet (the buck stops with me) reno, and alberto (pass the buck) gonzalez.

2. probably not, and that is why he was not sworn to tell the truth.
so this whole senate hearing is just another farce brought to us by the bushiites and the republican congress and poppy's delusional dream that he and his sons are PATRICIANS benefactors to the rest of us.

3. Do you remember when JFK made bobby his AG and people were scared that
because they were brothers that JFK could break laws? Then it was learned Bobby wouldn't rubber stamp JFK's BS? Boy I miss those days when elected employees put america first and big business second.

13. those were the days, indeed. unfortunately, lurking in the shadows were
POPPY the evil man BUSH and his crowd, just waiting for an opportunity to steal the days of honor and integrity and establish their band of goons on government and ourselves.

6. Gonzalez is testimony to everything that is wrong with the legal field.
Lawyers will lie for their clients. They'll even lie to protect themselves. Take one aside and ask them, and you'll see it's true.

29. There are a lot of ethical lawyers out there. By bashing all lawyers as
liars you are helping the Bush agenda to de-legitimize all trial lawyers. Big business and abusive leaders in government have plenty of lawyers to look out for THEIR interests. Who will look after yours?

30. Your last sentence sums it all up Today there is NO ONE who
will look after my legal interests, unless I have a $5000 retainer fee. As one of the good lawyers told me, ordinary people can't afford him.

I'm sure there a good lawyers out there. I just haven't had the pleasure to meet any personally.

7. As, I think it was, Gerald Nadler said
the statute of limitations goes beyond what Bush has left in office. They're all going to jail in the long run and they know it. So of course they're all going to lie and come up with some convoluted interpretation of the law.

10. sworn in
I find it very offensive and arrogant that he did not take an oath to tell the truth. the hearing should have stopped until he did.

Just trust me, I don't lie.

So taking an oath is now at the witness discretion? that will come in handy the next time I'm arrested.

11. It wasn't his discretion. He was willing to be sworn in.
Specter wouldn't allow it.

Now, what's up with that? Specter wouldn't allow it even though Ali G. was willing.

Hmmmm.

21. let's you and i hope that we never find ourselves before a court of law,
but if we ever do, let's you and i tell the judge, that, based on AG gonzalez' precedent, we are not going to take an oath to tell the truth. Let's see how fast and quick the judge high tails us to the county jail 'till we do swear to tell the truth, and only but the truth, so help us God.
