Just saw on MSNBC, that now it's being claimed "British secret service agents blinded the driver with lazers flashed in his eyes." :eyes:

2. Many Brits believe the driver was drugged.
Conspiracy theories about her death are not new.

3. The Beauty of Conspiracy Theories

The good thing about conspiracy theory is that every evidence AGAINST it could be a conspiracy...

You say: The driver was drunk.
I say: The report about the drunken driver was forged by THEM, obviously (whoevery they might be)

I love those theories.

10. you confuse theory with speculation
the value of CTs is demonstrated by those CTs that turned out to be correct. ie Watergate, Iran/Contra.

4. MSNBC said SOME ASPECTS claimed by Dodi's father might be true
They raised the laser business, and they also raised the 'pregnant Di' flag. They didn't positively assert anything, though.

7. Dodi's father is getting desperate.
Why?

Because it was the driver HE sent to drive his brat and Diana, so he is getting desperate in his attempts to duck his responsibility for the accident.

6. I lean towards the people who say her bodyguard would never have
let her get into a car with someone who was drunk.

8. What if the 'laser' was the same instrument that can bring down an
aircraft? Instead of a trigger gun - it's a trigger button that sends a machine out of control?

12. That's probably true....
as a former paramedic I can also tell you that I HATE the French EMS system--but, love the rest of their medical system.

The number one thing that the US got right in our medical system was how we train our paramedics. We have that "golden hour," and it has saved so many people in accidents like this.

Unfortunately for us....a trip on our amazingly good ambulances or, God forbid, helicopter--with highly trained technicians will now kill our bank accounts. That is, if we have bank accounts to kill--

Interview with Richard Tomlinson
First published in New Idea magazine

After months of cloak-and-dagger spying, arrests and claims of dirty tricks against him, former British spy Richard Tomlinson has lifted the lid on the sinister world of M16 - the super secret agency he once worked for and which he now accuses of hounding and plotting to kill princess Diana. Regarded as Britain's No. 1 enemy by royalists, Richard believes that only by going public with what he knows is he safe from becoming MI6's next victim.

<snip>

The Diana crash was chillingly similar to a previous MI6 plot. That plot was to assassinate the Serbian leader Slobodan Milosevic in Geneva using a powerful laser strobe light - similar to that described by witnesses to the Paris crash - to blind the driver. Richard claims MI6 dirty tricks experts have also perfected transmitters to knock out a car's electronics while it is on the move - even causing the airbags to inflate, blinding the driver.

"I was shown a document proposing an assassination of President Milosevic of Serbia because of his involvement with weapons shipments to Bosnia. The plan was to use a strobe light to blind his driver as he went into a road tunnel in Geneva. When I heard witnesses in Paris talk about a bright flash before Diana's car crash, it made sense.

"A tunnel is a perfect place for an assassination, with fewer witnesses. The Paris tunnel is also ideal because there are no crash rails along the central pillars, so it's a death trap. I also know that one of the paparazzi that night was working for MI6, too. He'd have been on a fast motorbike...

"They'd also have at their disposal sophisticated radio transmitters that would knock out the electronics of the limo at the press of a button, causing the airbags to inflate.

"Imagine - the driver flying into the tunnel at 90mph (145kph), picking up speed as he dips down, inches from those central concrete pillars. Suddenly, the car dies as the electronics fail. A blinding flash of light is shot into his eyes. Then, the airbag blows up in his face. Instant disaster..."

Please understand that I am not asserting that this guy OR his speculation is legit. I am merely observing that the "laser-light-flashing-the-eyes-of-the-driver-in-a-tunnel" story is not all that new.

14. Daily Express is desperate to keep itself afloat
This newspaper has transformed itself from reporting news to reporting Diana conspiracy theories. Recent front pages (these stories being the only ones on the front page, since it's tabloid):

30th Jan: DIANA: WHY DID SPIES VISIT THE MORGUE?

3rd Feb: CRUEL ATTACK ON DIANA - She didn't need 'murdering'. She had already destroyed her reputation, says Blunkett.

6th Feb: DIANA DEATH: Spies flashed laser beam at crash driver

7th Feb: DIANA INQUIRY CHIEF'S LAPTOP SECRETS STOLEN - Theives raid Lord Stevens' office but only HIS computers are taken

MailWatch keeps track of the Daily Mail and Daily Express screaming headlines - the Mail specialises in doom and gloom (especially about house price crashes), whiel the Express has an obsession with Diana, recycling old stories endlessly.
