It occurred to me today the W is obviously following the Russian economic
model. Drain the country's coffers dry by spending way, way too much on defense, enrich your hoodlum buddies, keep the people down by making the cost of sustenance products(food, shelter, medicine, utilitities)eat up their paltry incomes, watch the infrastructure implode, and then be ready to parcel out the remnants of the country to the new oligarchy. He watched it work for Putin. Anyone think I'm wrong?

1. Interesting parallel.
I hadn't thought about it before, but you're right (just a little further back). We're doing what the USSR did for the 30 years before its collapse.

3. Economically he is like Stalin
Morally, he is more like Hitler.

Best of both worlds! That's our W! What a dumbass.

4. I agree fully.
And he's adopting the Stalin approach to dissent as well. The rise of gulags is underway.

7. He's more of a Trotskyite -- perpetual war to empower the Corporate State.

8. I've thought about it since the day we invaded Afghanistan.
The USSR couldn't win and America can't either! The Mob wants to totally rule here, just like the Mob rules in Russia now.

9. I know he took time out to go to a funeral today - but let's not forget
the longterm havoc his budget will wreck (on purpose). How are Republicans going to explain this in the next elections? They hold both houses and the Presidency for cripes sake!!! They are mad and drunk with irresponsible power.
