You can watch the whole segment here. Just scroll all the way down, on the right hand side.

I despise Tweety, but once in awhile he does good. he gets it right.

1. Jon Stewart had fun with her, too
but she's so damn dumb she really didn't get the jokes.

It was almost painful to watch.

2. Jon Stewart is more subtle.
Some people mistake that for not being hardnosed. He's very effective at getting people like her to hang themselves in their own words, but he does it in a non-confrontational way, so that the exchange always appears to be friendly.

I actually had to peel back my memory a little bit to recall that she was who she was, and not just some nice, amiable girl with a new book out.

5. I thought she was just someone with a new book out.
I couldn't figure out why he was being so nice to her when she was saying all that bs about the Pentagon! I'll have to watch the rerun tonight!

3. Thought she was gonna cry

Tweety's trying to reel back in all those people he pissed off and are now boycotting him. I'm not fooled, but this was fun to watch.

4. This actually was a little shocking. I recommend it.
He basically says, yeah, we've heard all this (justification for Iraq war) before, and it was wrong, and it could have applied to a bunch of countries, among whom Iraq was the least of our worries.

6. I can't watch video right now (no sound, temporarily),
but I would love to know what happened. Can you provide some kind of nutshell synopsis?

I remember watching Torie Clarke at those press conferences--I mean Crunchy, she was just bizarre! I won't go into particulars because they would be too unkind, but suffice it to say that she was very weird. The "embedded" reporters stuff, her angry attitude, etc....

Why didn't anyone say anything about it then?

8. I remember watching her right at the start of the invasion
and how it felt like I was watching the Ministry of Propaganda. She was creepy and the whole thing really freaked me out (I wasn't used to facsism yet, I handle that sort of thing better now). I totally couldn't believe it was the same person on Jon Stewart last night.

It's hard to really summarize what's in the clip, without my going back and picking it apart, and I really need to go to bed. Your best bet would probably be to run a search here, and read through all the threads about it. Just use "Tweety" as your keyword.

I don't know how you can live without sound on your computer.
