Another Reason to Love Canada, No Abortion Laws!
In doing my research to get the hell out of this country I found this interesting tidbit!

<snip>

It Represents the Vision Liberals Have for the USA

Canada...

1)...is a peaceful nation with no enemies, good international relationships (including with Cuba), and is at minuscule risk for a terror attack.

2)...has no abortion laws whatsoever, abortion is legal, without restriction. But the rate of abortions in the country is relatively low.

Imagine that! I can't believe the US fundie freaks have not railed against Canada for this.

6. I would love to be in Vancouver!
It sounds fantastic but my husband's job prospects are better in Ontario. It is closer to my folks too so it is a better location for a few reasons. I pray this all works out for us.

:hi:

2. But will you be truly safe from the global reach of terrorists?
They hate Canada for its maple syrup. It's listed as an abomination in the Koran.

3. Is it because they have better sex ed. classes and more opportunities?
Edited on Thu Feb-09-06 11:15 AM by Selatius
I'm not sure, but I believe there is a relationship between rates of abortion compared to both knowledgeability of issues surrounding sex and economic opportunities afforded to the poorest folks, so you end up with things such as high teen pregnancy rates without that support. People who live in depressed neighborhoods are often deprived of a good education and, as a result, an opportunity to live a life free from poverty and deprivation. (Just come down here to Mississippi and see the poverty rate and the teen pregnancy rate here in this state)

4. Sigh.
Another reason to love our neighbors to the north.

As for the U.S. fundie freaks, I'm sure the next time Canada experiences some sort of horrible natural disaster, Pat Robertson will blame their evil baby-killing ways. Oh wait, Canada would actually be prepared for such a natural disaster because they've invested in infrastructure instead of colonialism, so there's unlikely to be a major loss of life.
