What Would Jesus Drive??
"I've got a Mercedes, my wife has a Mercedes, my daughter has a Mercedes. It all belongs to God and he's letting me use it."

--Keith Butler, prosperity preacher at Word of Faith and candidate for U.S. Senate in Michigan.

3. A man provided Jesus with a donkey to ride into town.
Proof positive Jesus was a Dem.

8. Good one! Here are a few others
Also proof Jesus was a Democrat: He believed in helping the poor. He mingled with the sick and infirmed. He broke bread with sinners - and didn't judge them. He halted an execution. He encouraged people to pay their taxes.

4. I personally like to think he'd drive a VW van
That would also serve as his living quarters. The Jesus in the New Testament was always quite humble, I don't know where the hell these people get off thinking he would drive a Mercedes, Hummer, or anything else that extravagant. Of course, I guess thinking that he would helps them justify their own habits.

6. And God gave me a whole flock of sheep to fleece,er. . .
I mean minister to, um yeah, minister to.

Damn when will these RW religious fools get their head out of their ass? Jim and Tammy Faye, Swaggart, Falwell, Robertson, all of these so called "men of God" ripping them off and living high on the hog, while the people who send them money live in abject poverty, deciding whether to eat, get their medication, or send off their last dollar to these charlatans. It just boggles the mind, such gullibility and greed.

God intended for your tithing to go towards helping out those less fortunate than you, not to go line the pockets of some so called preacher so he can buy his daughter a brand new Mercedes.

No wonder I can't make the big bucks, I just don't have the moral lacking to trick the poor, elderly and gullible out of their money.

15. "The word of the Lord came to me
'son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel ...woe to the shepherds of Israel who only take care of themselves! Should not shepherds take care of the flock? You eat the curds, clothe yourselves with the wool, and slaughter the choice animals, but you do not take care of the flock. You have not strengthened the weak or healed the sick or bound up the injured. You have not brought back the strays or searched for the lost. You have ruled them harshly and brutally." Ezekiel 34

12. He would definitely put the RWers in their place
Just like he did with the Pharisees back in his day. Of course, the RWers would then promptly declare him a "false messiah" and have him arrested and executed.

13. Lord, won't you buy me a Mercedes Benz?
I think that song was supposed to be ironic, and it sounds like the guy has a "corrupt mind, who had been robbed of the truth and who think that godliness is a means to financial gain." 1 Timothy 6:5
Luke 12:33 "Sell your possessions and give to the poor."
Matthew 6:24 "You cannot serve both God and money."

so a van or a pickup truck.

I don't think he would have a "W" bumper sticker. Quite possibly a peace symbol.

And he would probably frequently stop to let other cars into the traffic in front of him. And he would never cut people off or give them the finger.

17. What den of thieves would Jesus overturn?
In modern times, he might very well begin with people whose attitudes are similar to this guy's with the swank cars.

It might be a good DVD investment to watch this guy's monied ass shoved through the eye of that needle...
