4. I empathize
However, in this case, I am listening as well. If I come across a post with little information I just move on. However, Senator Kerry is being interviewed by Ed Schultz on AAR and he talked about how after Katrina, the veneer of the lying bush administration is gone. He also trashed duke cunningham and talked about his bill introduced today which would strip any congressman or senator of a pension if they were convicted of specific crimes (I don't have them all here to list) but you get the gist. He did very well.

I listen to 1350 AM out of New Orleans. Ed follows Franken who follows Springer on that channel. I guess I don't understand how radio programming works, I'm just glad to have it, even if it doesn't come in very well. We are about 50 miles northeast of NOLA.

12. That happens here too
We have Stephanie Miller and than other AAR shows. We used to have a local program but not anymore. It all depends on the local affiliate I guess on who they play. Schultz is on the same network as Stephanie Miller. I can't remember the name now.

and call it what it is instead of being defensive and saying what it isn't. We're always having this argument on their terms.

We have a cowardly corporate media. Cowed by the right wing noise machine. And afraid to rock the boat and buck their corporate conglomerate masters with real journalism.

We have a chickenshit media basically.

29. He actually did make the point about who owned the stations
He is going furthur than ANY mainstream politician, other than possibly Dean.

Also - I wish more Democrats would borrow his Wizard of Oz metaphor, which he has used since September when he started referring to Katrina pulling back the curtain so people could see the incompetence of the Bush administration. Now he has it down to the cute and effective sound bite that "Katrina pulled back the curtain and there wasn't even a wizard there."

34. I wish Dean would hit media more as head of the DNC - I also wish he would
work at TRAINING a new batch of spokespeople for the network appearances.

The old Clinton era DNC Dems were only schooled in defending Clinton and know very little about current issues or other Democratic lawmakers and their positions.

responding to the way they set the issues, so we keep saying no to this and no to that. We have to show our agenda and say yes to it.

He said he learned during the '04 election that their 'megaphone' is a lot bigger than ours. That while they protest about the 'liberal' media, within their circles they have been known to say that they own the WH, congress and the media.

32. Thanks for posting that
Kerry did an excellent job. If he had been that straightforward in the campaign he would have beaten Bush in a landslide.

He has it in him, there's no doubt about it. I don't however trust that, if given another chance to run for President, we wouldn't find him slipping into that "swift boat liar ignoring" campaign mode that was so frustrating to us the last time around. I don't trust that he wouldn't hire and begin taking the advice of another soft, no fight, out of touch consultant like Bub Shrum.

We have new models for Democrats to use: Paul Hackett, Brian Schweitzer, Wes Clark and Howard Dean. The old days of triangulation and the DLC shooting their party in the foot have got to end.

be the only Dem who CAN win in 2008.

BTW...check the research forum.... Kerry did fight back on swiftliars and even did so in his speech to Firefighters Convention - media chose to not cover it - only Cspan had it. Reserach forum has a thread chronicling the response. You'll be disgusted how little coverage media gave to the response.

How many times do ANY of our Dems speak out in tough terms against BushInc and how many times do you hear discussion of it in the media?

39. Which results in Kerry did nothing.
I agree with you, Kerry WAS speaking out on it - but until and unless it is widely disseminated, I, like many others, are left with the memory of KERRY DOING NOTHING. Sorry to say it, but that is the memory most of us have of it all.

41. Honestly - if more Dems BACKED HIM UP when he spoke out the way Repubs do
for Bush no matter how WRONG Bush was, it would have helped. It would help ALL Dems right NOW and that is the point of the thread. Dems need to be FORCED into the dissemination process for sheer survival.

As much as one can be helped when the media and the voting machines are controlled by the GOP - but if we don't take on that battle now, what the hell will happen in the next two elections?

Seriously - what else IS MORE IMPORTANT? Chopping our guys even when you know it's the media distorting every aspect of their positions and their character?

Do what you will - I think Kerry attacking the media PUBLICALLY is needed.
