Apparently former Gov Lamb is pressing this case. If feds continue to cut funding to states, the squeeze on them is getting tighter and tighter.

He is advocating that Colorado cut off ALL aid to non-US citizens living in Colorado. If this flies, would people seeking services just move to neighboring states, and they would follow suit there..

If this happens it would mean that anyone who is not blonde/fair-skinned could be challenged at schools, hospitals, DMV, etc..

Virtually ANYTHING "could" be deemed a "state service"..

I KNOW that illegal immigration is a problem, but it ALWAYS been a problem.. It's only become a PROBLEM, since jobs started leaving the us by the hundreds of thousands and companies started opting for cheap..

If employers can continue to pay cheap wages, and there are no unions to challenge them or no law enforcement to prevent them, it will only continue.

People come here to work..If they could not find work, they would stop coming here.

The onus is on the EMPLOYER.. (but most of them vote republican).. The dilemma of the republican party on this one is how to keep the racists in line AND still let their buddies make big bucks by offshoring and hiring undocumented people.

could be given only to those they wish. Also, are they only going to be asking brown folk for proof of citizenship?

But for the most part, permanent legal residents share almost every privalege citizens do, except being able to vote, and obtaining security clearances.

I know permament residents are eligable for federal grants, loans, and other benefits. I don't know how any naturalized citizen could ever vote repuke, considering the way they treat immigrants. It's clear that they are already gearing up for a xenophobic election.

I completely favor enforcing existing immigration laws and more sensible border security, but cutting off all state services to legal immigrants is just fuckin stupid. Legal residents pay all applicable taxes (state, federal, and local). BTW, as you asked does this include public education?

2. How could anybody really prove they are a US citizen?

Even a birth certificate can be forged and if it was legitimate, how could you prove you are the one named on the birth certificate?
