1. I have been looking for the last two hours and
I can not find anything. It is bugging the hell out of me and I know that the media will not dig for the truth. I will keep looking. I have heard it was last year and I have also heard it was 2004. Which year are they talking about. There is something fishy in Denmark.

Apparently the "disclosure" was made as a result of a claim by jr that a bunch of plots had been foiled.

It's either super secret and couldn't be used for political advantage, or it's bogus. Since most everything that has come from Khalid Shaikh Mohammed has been bogus, I would suspect that this is bogus too.

4. And this was a result of NSA and their domestic spying?
this article gives an entire different reason.

snip: Those plans were aborted mainly because of the decisive U.S. response to the New York and Washington attacks, which disrupted the terrorist organization's plans so thoroughly that it could not proceed, according to transcripts of his conversations with interrogators.

6. Hence the Winston Smith (1984) reference.
weird exchange tonight at the end of the CBS News report where torture was mentioned as the reason this plot was "foiled".

I'm not sure if this was the story the OP was looking for but it's rather slim pickings finding another mention.

7. Torture! Ah ha!
They had to have some "success story" to defend torture (and Gonzales, who's been taking a beating lately) so they dug this up and puffed it up.

Transparent, aren't they.

5. Couple of quotes from your article:

"Mohammed told interrogators that he and Ramzi Yousuf, his nephew who was behind an earlier attack on the World Trade Center in 1993, had leafed through almanacs of American skyscrapers when planning the first operation."

snip

"The transcripts are prefaced with a warning that Mohammed, the most senior al Qaeda member yet to be caught, "has been known to withhold information or deliberately mislead."

9. Quite frankly (imho) the WH is relying on a misinformed and fearful
citizenry to swallow their bullshit whole.

The Washington Times is Fox News for the literate fascist.

8. I vaguely remember, but with so many threats, who can keep up?
First it was the truck bombs. Then they said terrorists were renting apartments and packing them with explosives - apartment bombs. Then they said terrorists were going to attack shopping malls - that was a favorite of theirs, so they used it a few times.

Hell, the terror alert was up and down so often, and there were so many "threats" against various targets, who could possibly keep track? Sure, it's possible they mentioned that awhile back, then remembered it and dug it up again today. Doesn't make it any more credible now than it was then.
