What I find amazing
Is that while the disinformation dam has started to spring multiple leaks, flooding the country through multiple stories carried by the print media, the TV media insists on doing everything within its power to prop them up.

I think the SECOND thing we need to do if we take control of congress is to start an investigation into exactly how much these people have invested in the Neocon agenda, right behind investigating the neo-con artists currently running (and ruining) our country.

Are the various pundits and (alleged) journalists on TV simply following the path of least resistance as far as how they "report" the news, or are they being paid by the Ministry of Propaganda?

I really think we need to know. It's not enough to simply restore the Fairness Doctrine and repeal or amend the Telecommunication Act...we need to expose the liars for what they are and prosecute those we can.

1. I Can Just Hear All These Pundits and (Alleged) Journalists Saying....
after *Co is impeached and thrown in jail that they are finally able to be themselves. That they were threatened and though they wanted to tell the truth and out this administration - they feared for their lives and the lives of their families. You can't blame us - you would do the same thing to protect your family. We're glad that it's over.

4. Fine...so now you testify against those
who threatened you and we follow it up the chain of command.

Thank you for your service...now vanish into obscurity.

12. The dignified thing for them to do, then, is to resign.
But, we all know they are above dignity...

2. these networks answer to their owners---------
not the people. This is the problem.

I already posted about this in another thread today, but I will repeat myself. We need to organize a nationwide progressive boycott of the major news networks, starting with an organized demand for truth in reporting, for equal representation of both sides, and when it is refused, as it will be, we shut them down.

If the wingers can boycott Citgo, we can boycott CNN, FOX News, ABC, NBC, CBS--ALL OF THEM.

If every progressive in American stopped watching these networks on the same day, for as long as it took for them to tell the truth, they would either go bankrupt or change their ways.

Desperate times call for desperate measures.

We're their market--and the market needs to demand the product it wants.

3. I don't disagree...
In fact, I'd do more than boycott them. We should protest them, out in the open, where everyone can see. I wonder if they'd bother to cover it...actually, they'd pretty much have to, wouldn't they?

Protesting the network news and cable news channels would put them in a bit of a bind. Especially if we combine it with an announced boycott of every product advertised on their programs/channels.

11. If you like...
I wouldn't, but everyone else is welcome to do whatever...

I think a boycott/protest combination would do more than simply quietly doing something they wouldn't even notice for a while.

5. I don't know how many would be viable to prosecute,
but a return of the Fairness Doctrine would be a quantum leap (back to where we were once already!!! d*mn)

i switched over midstream, so i didn't see the story, but chris buhry(sp?) closed by saying that the white house "was able to remind Americans that under president bush's leadership, there has not been a repeat of 9/11..."

um..chris...as if 9/11 itself hadn't happened under his watch...?
