Am I the only one who is suspicious about who and why Brownie's letter to WH council was leaked to the press? Who gains by us being informed of this letter and it's contents? Who gains by us knowing that Brownie was trying to blackmail the WH? I understand that no one here can really answer these questions but isn't anyone curious?
something to the effect.... Give me executive privilege because I am now just a citizen and pay for my attorney or I'm going to tell all. Sounds like a blackmail or extortion threat to me.
3. Anything that changes the "context" is better for Bush. Right now
KATRINA sits in all our minds - as the most callous example of neocon thinking. If they start blaming each other (FEMA & DHS) all the better for the WH.
If the WH leaked it to try to make it sound like they had nothing to hide, it failed.
If Brown leaked it as a sympathy ploy, it failed.
Mostly what it does is confirm extortion tactics are common in the GOP and that the claims of "executive privelege" arre just used as a cheap cover-up....which many people already suspected.
