Iran Warmonger Newt Gingrich: " Iran can not be trusted with their oil"!
http://www.mikehersh.com/All_Roads_Lead_To_Cheney.shtml

I don't know how I missed this. Perhaps because I don't watch fox news?....

<snip>

Why, then, is the American population being whipped up by the Bush administration and Fox "News" into war hysteria against Iran?

Fox is aggressively agitating for war with Iran. On shows such as Hannity and Combs, guest after guest--Newt Gingrich, Ollie North, various retired generals, pundits, and even Democratic politicians--agitate for attacking Iran.

For example, on January 26th and 27th Liberal Democrat Bob Beckel said on Fox that the US must "absolutely" attack Iran if for no other reason than "for the sake of Israel." Democrat Bill Richardson affirmed that "we need to renew and re-strengthen our commitment to Israel." Newt Gingrich said that it is so urgent to attack Iran that it must happen within the next few months. According to Gingrich, Iran not only cannot be trusted with nuclear technology, but also Iranians "cannot be trusted with their oil."

5. What's the Turkish movie out now? Showing US troops shooting innocents
It's a fictional film but I bet it's not far from the truth.

Too many Americans have a pre-Galilean view of the world. America is the center of the universe. All other cultures revolve and evolve about us. Syncretic expansion of western ideals is not accepted nor wanted by everyone.

and it sounds like reality to me except the organ trafficing. Who knows, that is probably true as well.

In Turkish film, Americans kill for pleasure, Jewish doctor runs organ farm

By BENJAMIN HARVEY

ISTANBUL, Turkey (AP) - In the most expensive Turkish movie ever made, American soldiers in Iraq crash a wedding and pump a little boy full of lead in front of his mother.

They kill dozens of innocent people with random machine-gun fire, shoot the groom in the head, and drag those left alive to Abu Ghraib prison - where a Jewish doctor cuts out their organs, which he sells to rich people in New York, London and Tel Aviv.

Valley of the Wolves Iraq - set to open in Turkey on Friday - feeds off the increasingly negative feelings many Turks harbour toward their longtime NATO allies: Americans.

The movie, which reportedly cost some $10 million US, is a work of fiction and does not purport to level allegations against American troops. It is part of a new genre of popular culture in Turkey that demonizes the United States.

7. they do not have nukes
let alone the technology to drop them anywhere. Iran is at least ten years away from nukes. And that is if they start aggressively persuing them today. Which they have not.

11. Newt lost his cred years ago.
If the gop needs a new spokesman for their hit pieces they should choose someone who doesnt have such a sordid past. Remember the things he was doing when he was cricifying Clinton? Remember the Contract with America which has turned out to be laughable considering the trials and charges of corruption?

14. He's considering a run in '08 for the White House
He's been in either Iowa or New Hampshire every weekend, sometimes both, for months now. Frankly I'd love to see him run, if only for the sport of it. It would be so much fun watching this ego-maniac come face to face with the reality that outside of extremist circles he is regarded as nothing more than an oddity. And an amoral oddity at that.

12. Hersh says Beckel advocates attacking Iran just as Newt does
Edited on Fri Feb-10-06 04:48 PM by cryingshame
and yet only provides a chopped-up, out of context set of PARTIAL quotes. I have no doubt Newt might be advocating an imminent attack on Iran or that Fox is pursuing same sick strategy. However, I DO doubt the veracity of the
fashion Beckel's words have been used.

I've seen Beckel on Crossfire several times and he has been a well-spoken and AGGRESSIVE advocate for Democrats and the Left.

Just saying the US supports Israel doesn't mean he or Democrats necessarily support attacking Iran in the near future. Notice the only word in quotes is "absolutely". Why can't Hersh pull out Beckel's entire statement so we can judge what Beckel REALLY meant.

Since Hersh decides to butcher Beckel's and Richardson's words and seems determined to make them appear to support attcking Iran, I will have to ignore EVERYTHING Hersh says. In fact, I suspect he is a Leftist agitator trying to divide the Democratic party by wrongfully lumping guys like Beckel and Richardson with Newt.

'For example, on January 26th and 27th Liberal Democrat Bob Beckel said on Fox that the US must "absolutely" attack Iran if for no other reason than "for the sake of Israel." Democrat Bill Richardson affirmed that "we need to renew and re-strengthen our commitment to Israel."'
