1. Something most Americans don't know

The insurance industry is the largest unregulated (that's right - unregulated) industry in the United States.

Their lobbyists spend more per Congressman than any other.

This is a really serious matter, and any Democratic candidate who'd make it one of the central points in his or her candidacy would surely get my vote. And cash.

2. Any idea what treatments he was seeking?

I'd love to know what they considered "unnecessary" or "experimental".....

3. They denied morphine after denying the primary treatment.

It doesn't say the first treatments doctors wanted, but when they wrote a 27 page later explain that the patient was guaranteed to die, they still denied treatment. When the doctors prescribed morphine to at least ease his pain in death, the insurance company wouldn't even pay for that.
