Challenging Bush and Cheney on Illegal Leaks

Murray Waas broke a huge story yesterday -- disclosures in the Libby Case that Libby had been authorized to leak and smear by none other than the Vice President and other high ranking officials. There it is, the smoking gun, which shows that all of that talk about respect for the law, rooting out the leakers, and fighting the terrorists at all costs was just that -- talk.

I can't insure I will get an answer, but I felt compelled to memorialize what had happened and go down on record as asking Bush and Cheney if it was true. Bradblog has a copy of my letter. I don't think this is a one day story, and while many, many other stories about Bush Administration abuses are percolating -- their knowing deceipts in Katrina, their manipulation of intelligence to justify the Iraq war, their politically timed and charged disclosures about threats against LA, this story about Cheney authorizing political attacks with classified information was important to book mark and follow up on.
