25. To Keep from paying blacks decent living wages, you have to bring in
the cheap labor from Mexico and whereever else they are getting it. Now the corporations don't care and the government doesn't know what to do about all the illegal immigration that is burdening the social service networks of many major cities and communities throughout the nation. All the while, this greed is feeding racial hate and intolerance among the various groups. Folks, we are all "reaping the whirlwind."

15. Gotta work until he drops, eh???
Well, the bastard can blame that white fucker in the White House for that...not some black guy in NOLA with no job, because the contractors would rather hire undocumented workers at cut rate prices.

..... they can pay the Mexicans less, might be one of the big ones.

A race to the bottom is under way and bush & company will sit in their million $ plus homes

20. Mexican's Don't Necessarily Make Less - But Sometimes Work Under the Table
And in those cases, there's no SS to pay into or any other taxes on the part of the employer.

9. The debt problem is the result of export of American capital...
Edited on Sat Feb-11-06 09:48 AM by teryang
...to cheap labor markets and the so called "free trade" agreements and other laws including the tax code which reward the corporate interests who move their capital out of the country. There the corporations can have it both ways, cheap labor and no regulations abroad and take advantage of the American laws, infrastructure and markets which they don't pay taxes for. The center of gravity of the top American corporations, particularly manufacturing is moving overseas. Domestic debt is necessary to fuel this transition because it is accompanied by a decreased standard of living and greater and greater disparities in the distribution of wealth. Finance is now a greater and greater part of the economy and this includes the mortgage and debt business. There will be a reckoning sooner or later because this marks a decline in our nation. Export of capital and manufacturing and preoccupation with financial endeavors characterize powerful economies in the final stages of decline. The top one percent who don't pay their fair share or care about the "national interest" don't care because they have built a huge defensive moat of incredible wealth around themselves.

12. Yes, but remember that the contractors flooded into NO with their
'Mexican' workers to take advantage of Bush's waiver of minimum/union wages. The local people, who desparately needed jobs, were ignored.

17. What the Bible actually says is
2 Thessalonians 3:10
For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.

Take it for what you think it's worth.

what about all the anti-gay quotes they throw our there? How about the stoning of adulteresses?

On the other hand, you won't see them quoting stuff about not eating pork.

22. the bible says no such thing
Edited on Sat Feb-11-06 02:12 PM by pitohui
jesus says in the gospels to consider the lilies of the field, they neither toil nor do they spin

again in the story of mary and miriam he praised the woman who put down the work to sit and listen and condemned the woman who continued to work, he also told the disciples to put away their fishing nets and to follow him

there is no work ethic in the new testament, the old canard that jesus was a carpenter is untrue, his dad was the carpenter, jesus traveled about being put up a guest speaker and, er, yeah, going to parties and drinking wine

the first miracle of christ was changing the water into wine

it says clearly in revelations that he who changes the words of god will go to hell so that caller who invented words for the bible is going to hell out of his own mouth

Edited on Sat Feb-11-06 03:05 PM by buddyhollysghost
they won't spend tonight studying and working hard.

They'll be coming into my business plastered, drooling, slurring their words and trying to bring their beer/bourbon inside with them.

And their daddies won't be on a corner in NOLA. They will be getting hammered on cocktails at the strip club, the conference room or the attorney's office.

Oh, wait! White men don't drink! Only black people and indians buy all that Jack Black they're distilling down in Lynchburg!!

WHAT was I thinking!
