conservative fundamentalist churches better look out

cause the Army of radical Christian Reconstructionists is preparing to convert you to their ways

Casting Stones
An Army of radical Christian Reconstructionists is preparing a campaign to convert conservative fundamentalist churches.

Draped in a stark black suit with a shiny gold cross pinned to its lapel, Mark Rushdoony peered down from the pulpit through glasses tinted the color of hellfire.

"We are authorized by God to challenge all that is not godly!" Rushdoony thundered. "God is angry with the wicked every day, and the sins of the wicked deserve the infliction of God's wrath in this life as well as the life hereafter!"

Rushdoony was the keynote preacher at a symposium held in September at the Chalcedon Presbyterian Church in Cumming, Ga., to observe the 40th anniversary of the Chalcedon Foundation, the ultra-fundamentalist Christian ministry founded in California by Rushdoony's late father, R.J. Rushdoony. The elder Rushdoony was a racist and Holocaust denier who took his group's name from a medieval council of bishops that proclaimed the subservience of all nations and governments to God.

The Chalcedon Foundation has since become the fountainhead for Christian Reconstructionism, an obscure but growing branch of Christian fundamentalism whose adherents believe the world should be "reconstructed" so that everyone in it lives under strict Old Testament moral codes imposed by local theocracies.

1. Wonder if his crew is a bunch of pyromaniacs???
They seem to be going after churches that aren't sufficiently 'godly' to suit them:

Mark Rushdoony took over as president of the Chalcedon Foundation after his father's death in 2001, and now leads a small army of true believers whose fundamentalism is so hard core they make garden-variety right-wing evangelicals seem like Unitarians at a Peter, Paul and Mary sing-along. Reconstructionists envision a future in which practicing homosexuals and adulteresses will be put to death, as demanded, they say, by Mosaic Law.

27. I'm glad to see them getting exposure.
MISUNDERESTIMATE these loons at your own risk. They are backed by MAJOR MONEY and are EXTREMELY well-connected politically. Memory is a bit muddled but I think it's called the Constitution Restoration Act...

The link for this has been scrubbed... It was talion.com

Biggest vote-counting company financed by aggressive, radical right-wing political family

The largest vote-counting company (1) in the USA was given its grubstake in 1984 when the multi-millionaire Ahmanson family injected enough cash to get ahold of a 68 percent ownership. (2) This wealthy family has been instrumental in making the Republican Party take a hard right turn - pouring money into conservative Christian candidates and right-wing agendas.(3) They were instrumental in getting at least 24 conservatives into the California legislature; launching prop. 209, California's successful anti-affirmative action law; financing Prop. 22, California's effort to ban gay marriages; financing efforts to remove evolution from school curriculi; and financing the Chalcedon Institute, which reportedly believes in the death penalty for homosexuality and other "sins." The Ahmansons are heirs to the Home Savings of America fortune, which was the largest savings and loan association in the world during the rollicking 1980s (while the S&L scandals were taking place.) Howard Ahmanson is a major benefactor of the Christian reconstructionist movement, whose followers wish to turn certain tenets of the Bible into national law.

Tales From the Grassy Knoll
Text by Eva Sion

Theonomic Reconstructionism:
One God, One Vote:

"We protect the Bill of Rights, the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence. Now, we protect the most sacred treasure we have, our secret ballot." -Diebold CEO Wally O'Dell, May 2002.
"My purpose is total integration of biblical law into our lives." -Howard Ahmanson

How does a fervent belief in the End of the World and a conviction that the Bible (King James only, thank you ma'am) is the actual revealed word of God factor into one's long-term investment strategies? A strange question to be sure, but one that must have been posed by at least a few of the eclectic crowd who believe in Theonomic Reconstructionism.

Theonomic Reconstructionism is a belief that the only true authority is God's, that allegiance to biblical laws trumps that of civic law and that the Kingdom of Heaven needs to be built on Earth before Jesus will come again. In addition to that, homosexuals should be put to death, women should be banned from civic office, apostates and heretics should be stoned to death and there is a great need for more Christian politicians.

Not content to philosophize about such things, the TR movement sprang into action. Funded by billionaires such as Howard Ahmanson and the Coors and Hunt families, Reconstructionists formed think tanks such as the Chalcedon Institute and the Rutherford Institute (the friendly guys that funded Paula Jones' lawsuit against Clinton) to give the Christian Right a philosophical base to draw from, and political action committees to finance their elections.

....

According to the Reconstructionists, Jesus would do what Howard Ahmanson did. Ahmanson inherited his money from his father, owner of Home Savings & Loan (during the S&L scandal of the Reagan years, Home's investors, mostly small family investments, lost over $150 million dollars. No one went to jail). In addition to funding PACs and think tanks, Howard Jr. parlayed his fortune into the majority stock of a business called American Information Systems (AIS) started by two enterprising brothers, Todd and Bob Urosevich. AIS later merged with Business Records Corporation (BRC) and became Election Systems & Solutions (ES&S). ES&S is the number one provider of touch-screen voting machines. Their website claims that their products were used in collecting 56% of the national vote in the last presidential elections.

Todd Urosevich is now Vice President of ES&S. Strangely enough, brother Bob moved on to head the second largest computerized vote-counting business, Global Election Systems, recently purchased by ATM and security giant Diebold. (They now have both the Ohio and Georgia contracts.) In a round table swap of incestuous patronage the previous executives of Global moved on to head the third largest vote-counting company in the nation, Advanced Voting Systems. Combined, these three corporations will process nearly 80% of the next nationwide elections.

3. This is not the Christian Way
When Jesus died on the cross, he negated the wrath of God, the sacrifices, all of it. His message was one of peace and love. When I read this below:

-snip-

The Chalcedon Foundation has since become the fountainhead for Christian Reconstructionism, an obscure but growing branch of Christian fundamentalism whose adherents believe the world should be "reconstructed" so that everyone in it lives under strict Old Testament moral codes imposed by local theocracies.

-snip-

This directly conflicts with the crucification of Christ. It is not meant for us to go back to the old Testament, that is what the birth and death of Christ was about, to change all of that....

10. exactly.
Not that there is much of Christ in the modern evangelical christian movement. They seem to see themselves as moral avengers on a crusade for God. But somehow they feel the need to act in God's place - assuming they KNOW God's feelings on the matter... Kind of seems like they believe God is too weak to take care of sin in His own time and way.

Isn't that blasphemy?

"and by their works ye shall know them"

Judgement day should be full of suprises for them - if Christ has anything to say about it.

5.  I ve been saying this for years...
The antichoice movement is just an attempt to blur all religions into one. Why do you think that they fundies were trying to push intelligent design in the public school system? ID was just a trojan horse so that can get thier own brand of Christianity forced down every kids throat. You know they saying get them while thier young.

8. Gosh, then Jesus got it all wrong.
43 “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ 44 But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, 45 that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. 46 For if you love those who love you, what reward have you? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? 47 And if you greet your brethren only, what do you do more than others? Do not even the tax collectors do so? 48 Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect. Matthew 5:43-48

God must be angry with Him, too.

In the 70's it was kewl to be stupid. The fundies have done everything in their power to have critical thinking removed from the curriculum.

Not unlike the "German Christians". Their champions were not "the crucified Christ" but "King Christ and the Fuehrer."

They claim to live under strict OT moral codes but that's the Jews. The New Testament and following Jesus is what a CHRISTian does. Good grief. These people are totally ignorant. Why don't they call themselves something else since they DON'T follow Christ?

They have NO interest in Christ or His teachings. They have a VE$TED INTERE$T in using religion to cement their control of the unwashed masses.
Once you make the connexion between the Reconstructionists, Leo Strauss, Diebold, PNAC and follow the MONEY TRAIL to some MAJOR megabucks and agendas, it will ALL become clear...
