I hadn't really thought about it ..... I just chalked it up to the DU :tinfoilhat:
way of thinking until as I was scrolling down the TV channels and hit Fox News .....
"That accident gave the Washington Press core a sneak peak into what the President,
was really thinking." Then some news Barbie went on to praise him ........
....... I left before anymore of this sham went on.

If you can stomach it watch Fox at the top of the hour and see if the whole thing
doesn't come off a tad bit "over produced?" Because why is Fox still pimping
that story more then 24 hours later?

News Story:
Bush drives drunk hops, then curb, and runs over 3 people on a visit to the Washington Monument.
Fox Report:
"The President today stopped 3 al Qaeda terrorists on the grass as they were
going to attack a symbol of our freedoms. We go to the Washington D.C. where John Kasich
will report on what happened and just what kind of WMDs the terrorists had with them."

1. Keep in mind there was a similar goof with a staged video conf with Iraq.

I've been on the tech side of event presentations and can easily imagine how this could have happened.

I also can imagine that this Admin has been very tight with technical direction making such a slip-up unlikely.

So, it is curious to me.

:hi: Wilms

and let me know what you think ..... it just struck me very contrived.
I might very well be wrong but bush's handlers seem to script everything
and this seems the same.

BTW if you can not stomach Fox i understand.

9. I don't get FOX. (Neither does my TV, LOL)

So I miss the seeing a major cause of the nations downfall.

Look. Even if it was a goof, you know they'll spin it. Rove is genetically obliged.

2. My guess is that Bush can now point to this incident and claim
that he's been eavesdropped on too and it just shows that there's nothing to be afraid of. After all, if you have nothing to hide, yada, yada, yada. Of course, it was all scripted. Makes him seem more like the "common man" and endears him to his supporters.

get your broom. Call Officer Barbrady
Humor aside, this is total Bu(ll)shit -- a Rovian setup for sure.

8. Or was it more like the "major league asshole"
moment before the 2000 election? Although that one was probably out of their control.

When that happened, I was working for a local tv station as a production tech for news. I got the enviable task of typing in the caption at the bottom of the screen (because the audio wasn't that great, and we wanted to make sure people didn't miss it). I had to decide what symbol to use to replace the word asshole. I went with a**hole. This story is pointless, I know, but I just wanted to share.

7. Well the thing that set a red flag off for me was..
the the statement was prefaced with. "I expect what I have to say, stays in this room." Then he goes on to say nothing that was not already printed in MSM.

20. Yeah, most of everyone connected to T-Rex is dead
Marc Bolan died in a car accident in 1977. The car driven by his girlfriend Gloria Jones (and mother of his son Rolan Bolan) hit a tree and Marc got the worst of it.

Steve Currie the bass player killed in car crash.
Steve (Peregrine) Took (Member of Tyrannosaurus Rex) choked to death on a cherry pit.
Mickey Finn the percussion guy died a few years ago.
Tony Secunda, his manager died

The only one left is the drummer John Legend, who plays drums in a church somewhere in the UK.

I still love them dearly. I'm currently on a big TRex binge. Don't know why but the music suits me at the moment.

Thanks - I don't know much about the history of the band. My sister listened to them (I was about 13 at the time) and your avatar brought back some memories! I love them.

11. When I first heard it - that was my immediate thought.
The whole thing was staged because what Bush said was not incriminating in any way. All bullshit.

14. There was an episode of the West Wing,
The president says something not "knowing" that the camera was still on. At the end, his press secretary realizes that he had to know. The difference, in fiction it was subtle, with Bush its just more ham handed B.S. The wheels are coming off so fast, they can't even spin their crap anymore.

15. Nothing * does is accidental except for choking on pretzels.
Think Andy Kaufman. Karl Rove plays with the minds of mediawatchers the way that Kaufman played with reality for audiences. It looked real, but it was all a set-up. I can't believe anyone with half a brain is still falling for this stuff.

19. Complete Bullshit
I have not watched CNN, MSRNC, or FAUX in years and I won't do so now to look at this crap but this "candid" moment was about as candid as I am conservative. There is not one piece of truth in any one of the pieces of shit in that room. If what is said in a candid moment in any way parallels what is said in public then it wasn't even close to a candid moment.
