4. That's an interesting thought.
The guy was 78, afterall....a trauma like that could easily have resulted in a heart attack or stroke. You may well be right with your point.

39. So that's why it took 3 hrs to get him to the hospital?
Ambulance or no, serious gunshot wounds should be treated in a hospital, not the vice president's personal ambulance.

14. if the guy died
Cheney would have been reported to be in Wyoming.

Even if they had to kill all witnesses in a mysterious plane crash.

AP) Vice President Dick Cheney accidentally shot and injured a man during a weekend quail hunting trip in Texas, his spokeswoman said Sunday. Harry Whittington, 78, was "alert and doing fine" after Cheney sprayed Whittington with shotgun pellets on Saturday at the Armstrong Ranch in south Texas, said property owner Katharine Armstrong. Armstrong said Cheney turned to shoot a bird and accidentally hit Whittington. She said Whittington was taken to Corpus Christi Memorial Hospital by ambulance.

9. Well, DC media knew Rove outed Plame and let the WH lie about it for over
2 yrs, including the entire year before the election.

The NYT had the wiretapping story and kept quiet about THAT before the election.

Not too difficult to figure it out - Corporate media in America has become the PR Dept. for BushInc and his war-profiteering cronies.

The shooting was first reported by the Corpus Christi Caller-Times.

http://www.breitbart.com/news/2006/02/12/D8FNQDG80.html

Corpus Christi Caller-Times article:

Cheney’s secret service agents tended to the injured man before paramedics arrived, Armstrong said.

Officials with the Kenedy County Sheriff’s Office, who helped investigate the incident, did not return phone calls Sunday afternoon.

22. "late afternoon on Saturday.

.........
Armstrong said she was watching from a car while Cheney, Whittington and another hunter got out of the vehicle to shot at a covey of quail late afternoon on Saturday.

Whittington shot a bird and went to look for it in the tall grass, while Cheney and the third hunter walked to another spot and found a second covey.

Whittington "came up from behind the vice president and the other hunter and didn't signal them or indicate to them or announce himself," Armstrong told the Associated Press in an interview.

"The vice president didn't see him," she continued. "The covey flushed and the vice president picked out a bird and was following it and shot. And by god, Harry was in the line of fire and got peppered pretty good."

31. The Armstrong Ranch has Halliburton connections.
Bu$h Pioneers Tobin and Anne Armstrong own the 50,000 acre Armstrong Ranch. Anne Armstrong was a Halliburton director when that corporation hired Cheney. She is Kay Bailey Hutchison’s best friend, having helped launch the senator’s career as Republican National Committee co-chair in 1971. Anne Cox Armstrong is an heiress to the Cox Communication fortune.

29. I don't know
But the area where the ranch is is very remote. Kenedy county has moe cows than people; so they transported the victim to Corpus Christi. Local Corpus news keeps breaking into the Olympics repeating the same damn information you can get on Yahoo. Apparently Cheney was here visiting the victim today. It sounds really like it was a unfortunate accident. I don't think there is anything sinister in this story.
