2. Not medical but i know it depends on where it was
I mean it was a shotgun blast, that spread the ammo out, almost like a spray. I mean hell, what happens if this guy dies.

5. I think it will be time for Cheney to take a permenant vacation
he needs a good excuse, especially if Fitzgerald is going to indict him anyway.

4. not a medical guy...
but I've heard that he's doing fine...I imagine he's in ICU as a precaution because of his age. I think at 78 years old...anything is taken seriously - especially if you've been shot!!!

Cheney's hunting companion, Harry Whittington, was "alert and doing fine" in the hospital after being shot on Saturday with shotgun pellets, CNN reported ranch owner Katharine Armstrong said.

Why did it takes three hours to take him to the hospital? CNN said he was shot at 5.30 and admitted to hospital at 8.30pm. Hmmmmmmmmmmm

15. Well, I worked in clinical medicine for 17 yrs- in CCU and SICU
Patients don't just go to ICU unless there's a need.

I wonder just how fine he is. The language 'medically stable' does not tell the story.

Patients who are very critical can be 'medically stable'.

17. The need being the fact that he is 78 years old.
Edited on Sun Feb-12-06 04:45 PM by Texasgal
Most likely on blood thinners, hypertension and a host of other medical issues that come with age. ICU dosen't mean your near death either.

18. Anyone who is shot is at severe risk of infection.
Particularly when they are 78 years old.
