ANTI-Spyware -- Doublespeak, The Net (movie)
I think i have finally become truly paranoid. I just got a new computer, a used laptop. As i booted up, there on the bottom-right hand corner was a little glowing icon for the ANTI-Spyware program, rrunning to 'protect' me? Am I so crazy that as I read ANTI-SPYWARE I suddenly felt dread and thought of 1984 doublespeak and that S.Bullok movie the Net where a company supposedly selling proection software was doing exactly the opposite?

Am I going insane? :tinfoilhat:

1. No... there are people who examine such software to ensure that
it performs as advertised. Windows on the other hand... I don't trust for obvious reasons. Here.... take this link... I'm sure that by the time you finish reading it, you'll feel right as rain.... (The Oracle, The Matrix) instead of take this link, it was take a cookie.....

2. Yes.
Sorry, but that is more than a little paranoid. That's a lot paranoid If you're really that worried, why don't you get yourself a good firewall (I recommend AtGuard, you can find it online), some antivirus software (I recommend eTrust AV, from Computer Associates), and an anti-spyware app of your own choosing (I recommend AdAware)? Then you'll have full control over your computer (which you should do anyway) and you won't have to delve into tin-foil hattery.

3. WELL
thank you for your replies. I am not a crazy person, but it just struck me as not impossible these days.

The US government IS spying on US citizens, we don't know who and for what reasons because they won't tell us.

The US government DID ask google for their internet searches.

The US government does say one thing when the mean the exact opposite.

Ok so maybe I am getting A LOT paranoid.

I think I have valid reasons.
