It's been over two centuries since a sitting Vice President shot somebody.

July 11, 1804 when the sitting Vice President, Aaron Burr, shot and mortally wounded Alexander Hamilton was the last incident of a sitting Vice President shooting somebody as far as I can find.

Can anybody find a more recent instance of a sitting Vice President shooting somebody?

Bush Sr. was probably the most recent (WW-2). Not sure about the combat records of others since Truman (WW-1).
