Kathleen Parker mocks Kerry's ignorance of hunting technique
Edited on Sun Feb-12-06 09:44 PM by Cocoa
he's a fake, she says, and lectures him about how not to get shot while hunting.

<snip>

In another manly vignette aimed at hunters and gun owners, Kerry spoke of his love of deer hunting. As reported in the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel, Kerry said:

"I go out with my trusty 12-gauge double barrel, crawl around on my stomach. I track and move and decoy and play games and try to out smart them. You know, kind of play the wind."

I hate to break it to Bwana, but deer hunters usually seek elevation (think deer stand) or else they're likely to get shot themselves by one o' them Bush-lovin' religious fanatics collecting rattlesnakes for Saturday night's revival.

Although Bush was as privileged as Kerry growing up, he nevertheless is able to connect with regular folks. Human chemistry, after all, isn't related to birth, money or social standing, but emerges from and registers on an instinctual level. You've either got "it" or you don't.

meanwhile, Dick Cheney exudes competence... (not Parker, another whore)

<snip>

So, that's our president. What of our vice president? Is he, too, a "daddy politician"? You bet, as Donald Rumsfeld would say. Dick Cheney is a laconic Westerner, exuding an aura of competence, strength and dependability. You get the feeling that things are going to be all right if Mr. Cheney is on the case. Like his boss, he talks straight, in matter-of-fact tones. His detractors enjoy reminding us that he received a deferment in the Vietnam War--he is on the liberals' list of "chicken hawks." But few serious people consider him anything other than a prime example of the tough-minded conservative.

1. What a fucking whore
Too bad Kerry can actually shoot his target, and not other hunters.

4. HAHAH...Kerry a 50yr hunter and EXPERT MARKSMAN and Bush is a zero
Edited on Sun Feb-12-06 09:42 PM by blm
who pretends he's a sportsman. Kerry has been flying planes for 40 yrs - the media PRETENDS that Bush is a flyboy when he was actually AFRAID of landing and was grounded. Kerry rides hogs and races cycles and Bush falls off segways.

Kathleen Parker sure knows her men, doesn't she?

5. I hate to break it to Kathleen Parker, Great White Huntress
Edited on Sun Feb-12-06 09:42 PM by EstimatedProphet
But I've never hunted from a tree stand, ever. And that includes several times among other hunters. See, all of us were dressed in orange so that we were visible as non-deer. That's the point of the rules for wearing orange. If Bwana Parker thinks that people get in tree stands to avoid looking like deer, then she's clearly never been hunting before, AND IS THEREFORE IN NO POSITION TO LECTURE JOHN KERRY.

Maybe she should stick to collecting rattlesnakes for her snake handling sessions.

7. Everybody has their own technique. Have a friend who bagged
a good doe from his bedroom window. He never uses a stand because of a fear of heights. He bagged a 220lb buck (dressed out) that was the biggest one bagged that year.

I thought Kerry was more of a bird hunter.

10. I would pay very good money to listen to a debate between any of
the sycophantic pro-Bush detractors of John Kerry and Senator Kerry himself.

Their disrespect would not be equal to his intellect. His range beats their reductionist bullshit and snark.

And while we're at it, let's hold the debate at Max Cleland's house.
